Nothing like the one in Macon!!! The one in columbus is horrid, the smell when u walk inside is rancid!!! Got snack sticks and summer sausage from them got home it wasn't even cooked throughly, called them they said their smoker went out asked for refund on meat they said no it pretty much is what it is!!! Bad business and their meat quality is good!!! Fork in the road is the best place I've took my deer by far!!!

Absolutely terrible! Took a month to get my meat back to me. Then it was absolutely wrong. I wish I would have read the reviews before hand. I brought in a 100lb doe and got 15 lbs of meat back and it cost me $100. I live 3 hours away and they are close to my hunting spot so I thought I would be alright to drop it off there. Not even close. I got absolute junk. Absolutely ridiculous. As a business they should be ashamed of how terrible they are at their jobs. Not to mention how I went there 3 times to check to see if my meat was done within that month and there’s only kids working in there. Make sure you do your research and find a place that’s good unlike me so you don’t get screwed over like I did.

I’ve driven 1.5 hours to take meat to them for years. Unbelievably inconsistent. You get the best sausage you’ve ever had one time and the next time I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. Now, once again, I’ve got $200 worth of sausage in my freezer that isn’t worth eating and can’t even get a call back from the owner. Save your money, just buy something at the grocery store! At least it’s the same every time you buy it. On a positive note, I did try some of the “Prime Ribeye” burger and it was was excellent, although you could buy Prime Beef for what they charge. With the inconsistency I’ve experienced here, I’ll just gamble on beef from Kroger.

Praire meats in Macon:
Do your self a big favor if your droping off boned (thats bone removed an meat trimed weighted an ready to grind Chris) meat for summer sausage in Macon make sure you get them to weight it, make sure Wayne gives you a ticket!! I took 27 pounds in. Got a call in a few days, sausage ready it will be $77.00. I get to Macon to get it, they cant find it, an tell me its not ready. Keep in mind they charge $3.00 a pound to make summer sausage, $77.00 would equates to 24 pounds. I another call a few days later amazingly now the charge is $55.00 (a difference of $22.00 or 7 plus pounds)
I have the meat picked up, its only 17 pounds? (we started with 27 pounds of trimed meat Chris) i call Macon to inquire an get cussed out by Wayne the meat cutter?
I then call Columbus, get what i though was a helpful person who agreed that ishould have got about 24 pounds of sausage. He said let him call macon investigate an call me the next day.
Never got that return call.
I again call Columbus get a very helpful young lady on the phone, i fill her in on whats going on. She talks to the owner angetsblew off.
Macon gave me Chris's # but he doesn't answer or return calls.
I still dont have all my sausage or an explanation.
Maybe this will get your attention Chris

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DEER TO THESE CROOKS! My son killed his biggest buck to date and we dropped it off to get it caped for a shoulder mount. When we returned to pick it up they had given it to someone else. THEN they tried to give us 2 other deer heads that weren't ours! Had we been dishonest we could've taken someone else's deer! I called the owner and he assured me he would make it right. He said he would figure it out and call me back. He never called me back and blocked my number. One of his employees gave me the runaround for 2 weeks and then he blocked my number. They never called me to come pick up my meat either. I guess they sold it to someone else. There are a bunch of teenagers at the Macon location with no adult supervision. If they will give your trophy to someone else and try to give you someone else's, imagine what they are doing to the meat they process! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They are a dishonest bunch of crooks! The only reason they get 1 star is you have to give them that to post a review.

Dropped an 8 point buck off to them did everything they told me to. to line their recommended taxedermist up they lost the deer head antlers and all. Spoke with the owner chris he said he was gonna get to the bottom of it and find my deer head and antlers . He knew they were their some where.. I'm writing this at almost two weeks later and still havent heard back from him he wanted to make it right. Well apparently he didnt.. also my buck weighed round about 135 to 140 lbs all I wanted was ground burger. I go to pick up today and I have 16 -one pound individual bags of ground meat.. I'm not sure how that big of deer only produces 16 bags of burger.. do not take your deer to them.....

Way overpriced, they don’t butcher the deer like you request. Was supposed to get deer steak and breakfast sausage got 3 packs of deer steak and 25 pounds of breakfast sausage and was charged for 130 lb deer. Dropped another deer off and now they tell me they can’t find it.

Best place in Golden Triangle to take your deer. All you need to do is put it down and drop it off and they do the rest. Awesome service ,fast Friendly people. Snack sticks are the best thing around especially the jalapeno and cheese
