Ray was very friendly and compassionate when I brought my cat in to made into a rug. I know it's a bit unusual but I'd heard he did pets and also provided excellent craftsmanship and compassion when dealing with something like that.

I have not been able get in touch with him since July, and it's almost 6 months now. He said it would be about a month. Where's my cat

Taxidermy is a lost art and good help is hard to find. Ray and Nicole strive to provide excellent results and that takes time. I learned if they don't call back to trust that they are working on my animal and will reach out once they've been able to get to it.

There are fewer and fewer taxidermists working out there so whether it's a deer or a beloved pet you can trust Alcovy... it might just take awhile and you'll have to lean on faith. These are good people.

Like a lot of you, I had to wait a really long time to get my mounts back. About 20 months give or take, but when I finally got them back I was really impressed!!! Just be patient with him, he does all the work himself. You WILL eventually get your deer back and you won’t be disappointed.

I do not recommend it. I have some shoulder mounts, it's been 3 seasons and I haven't been able to deliver any of them for a long time, it made me think that I lost them.

Was referred to Ray by a friend and hunting partner. I definitely got my moneys worth! Great service, and continually good communication! Really happy with this experience and will make Alcovy my go-to for future business.

I was referred to Alcovy by my processor and a hunting buddy. After he picked up my buck (Christmas Day kill ‘22) I read a few of the most recent reviews and they were pretty bad, but I believed in what my friends had told me. I tried reaching out after he picked up the buck just to confirm that he had it. He never returns any calls or text. He may respond that he will follow up at x:00, but he will not respond. The communication from Ray is absolutely deplorable for a business owner. The only direct communication I had from Ray was a short confirmation that he had the deer. There were no further follow ups and no feedback. He finally responded to me on Sept ‘23 to notify me that the work on my deer would not began until the end of this deer season (Jan ‘24). Ray also rudely included a few other comments telling me that my calls and concerns slow his work.

Since then, the son of my friend has picked up 2 deer from Alcovy to take elsewhere. One of which had been there for more than 2 years.

Today, 12/5/23, I went to get my cape and rack to take to another taxidermy. Alcovy said is was too much work to retrieve my cape at the time and they would not refund my deposit. I was livid. I gave a deposit of $200 almost a year before the work would begin, at the earliest. Being a business owner myself, we hold to the practice that we do not invoice down payments to clients until we are ready to work!!

This business is an organizational nightmare. Do not waste your time and money.
