Produce is horrible. How can you put stuff like that on your shelves and expect people to actually buy it? Their banana brand spoils quickly. Now that I'm thinking about it, all their produce rots fast. I've seen other post about their meat on Facebook, so I've always bought that elsewhere. Two stars because the employees are friendlier than Ingles & Food Outlet.

I’ve been shopping at this store for a few months now. At first, I really liked their selection and prices. However, now I have noticed they have one price listed on signs in front of items, but they charge full price at the register. I thought maybe I had been misreading the signs. This week I took extra time and thoroughly read ALL signs and checked my receipt. Once again, I was charged full price for at least three items, about $6 too much. A small amount, yes, but week after week this adds up, and some weeks it is well over $6 that I was overcharged. I won’t be returning to this location. This is a very bad and scheme filled action, especially in these financial times.

Nice store. I appreciate that this store still offers a decent selection of products. I like variety in my food choices. Their produce department is usually well-stocked with fresh items. They have a good "pick 5" special in the meat department. There's always weekly sales and reward card deals as well. There is a deli and bakery as well as a pharmacy inside. It's always well-stocked and clean and easy to get up and down the aisles. Checkout sometimes gets backed up which happens at any store. I wish the prices were lower, especially with all the coupons and discounts but every grocery store has high prices these days.

Stopped at this grocery store to stock up on a few things during my stay at a cabin in the mountains. Comfortable prices, clean, aisles easy navigate.

Great prices. If you don't have one of their ValuCards, ask any associate before you ✅ out. I saved $59 on my order of $160 and I already thought I had good prices. Need to work on GoCart program. Orders must be placed too far in advance. Can't pay with Food Stamps online. Need to upgrade software and look at Walmart's Curbside program; it is easier to use and will accept EBT online.

UPDATE:

I visited the Trenton store just before Christmas and all the registers were open, but most were clogged up with customers waiting or Cashiers who had to call for assistance. After waiting in one line for over 5 minutes I saw a line that was coming empty so I switched lanes. I noticed I got a "strange look" from a man (who I found out was the Manager, Jim Lawson). While I was waiting, I noticed that I was in the express lane after hearing the Manager rudely send another shopper who had lined-up behind me to a different line because it was "an express line."

I apologized to the young lady who was my Cashier (Heaven) for being in the wrong lane and she said it was "okay." Let's face it: Food City doesn't make a cent until the Customer checks out and they collect the money; so if a Customer gets his purchases paid for does it really matter if he had a few extra items?

I normally respect Express checkouts and using them at this visit was an honest mistake but in the end, why should it matter. I did have 15 items (5 over the number allowed in the Express Lane) but most of them were small items that you could hold in one hand) and my cart was not even 1/10 filled. The Manager , Jim Lawson, evidently thinks he is too important to run a register and just stands around watching to see if any violates his Express Lane sign. Why didn't he do something to help get the other registers moving ? Jim Lawson reflects poorly on Food City; his attitude is borderline, rude.

This visit to Food City was frustrating; I asked 3 employees where Can Openers were located and no one knew; finally I had to go to the Service Desk where a young man (Malakai) found out for me.

As long as the Trenton store has people like Jim Lawson in charge, I will not return to Food City; there are too many other grocery stores in this area to shop at.

Unfortunately the store's employees like Heaven and Malakai were courteous and helpful; I wonder if they will remain at Food City because the obviously are working under Managers who have no people skills.

CONCLUSION:

People get in any checkout line for one reason: to give Food City money! Is it worth it for any Manager to offend a customer over a few items? I think, not!

One of the best stores to come to our area ever. I am so glad the owners of Bruce's Foodland who tried everything in the town council to stop us from having another store were unsuccessful. They said us local people couldn't afford things this store offers. I heard this speech myself online. Shucks they have more bargains and much better and fresher food than Bruce's. Bye Bye Foodland. I love Food CITY.
