No street parking available. Security gate is there to enter in the building. Safety shoe and safety glasses required. Excess to washroom . Enough space to back at docks. Overall nice staff.

First of all, when you go somewhere to load...your in THEIR playground! If it says "wear pants, sleeves, REAL SHOES" etc, DO IT! You should NOT put anyone that is paying YOU in a position to cause an incident. Now, the review! Prior to coming here, I read the requirements and followed them to the T. I was immediately put into a dock and told what was required of me on my part. I will load here anytime. Just a tip to all newer guys on the road, this job is what you make of it. It's easy to become complacent and throw on "flip flops" and "running shorts" but remember, if someone came to YOUR place and did what THEY wanted, it wouldn't be fair, especially if it was YOU paying THEM! Have a great day .

I was there 6/28/19 at about 2 p.m. they loaded me by 3:00ish,I was told by another driver that they were rude and other things,but all 3 gentlemen were very professional,friendly and polite,we even had a moment of laughter ?.
Hard hat.
Safety goggles.
Full pants.
Boots.
Sleeved shirt.
Reflective vest(optional,bc I like to wear it).
They told me before I went in that I needed these items,so my visit went without a hitch,YES,I would go back without a doubt.

First time here and we will never come back. The "gentleman" (and I use this loosely) at the gate was a total d-bag. He was rude and acted like he owned the place. It took everything for my driver not to get out the truck. Myself and a coworker just happened to be on the phone with the driver as he was trying to calm down from his first encounter with the guy, so we heard the whole exchange. I called the broker and let him know - hey this yard guy is rude and the broker said "he always has complaints about the facility" Not again.

I’d like to start off by saying Stepan, in its entirety, is one of the best companies I’ve had dealings with. Yet, the location in Columbus, GA lacks work ethic and true professionalism. If one just compares the Winder, GA plant to that one, it’s like night and day. As if they are not even part of the same entity. There is a nonchalant, “I really don’t care,” attitude that permeates the Columbus location that leaves a disgusting taste in the mouths of those who are unfortunate enough to have business interactions with those who staff this location. I’m not sure what happen to pride, ownership, and responsibility as it pertains to one’s craft, but The Stepan Company would do itself a well deserved favor by retraining, crosstraining, or even restaffing those that do just enough to stay under the radar and “get by” from paycheck to paycheck. We will never make America great again if we continue to have a second class workforce who does not value their position and are willing to go above and beyond to increase production. When I was just a janitor at a young age, I took pride in how clean my bathrooms were and how my floors would shine like glass. I did more than the minimum because I didn’t want to just be average. That is the type of enthusiasm and performance I expect in a highly competitive and professional environment such as the one The Stepan Company is engaged. Mediocrity and the lazy just getting by attitude is what has killed our nation’s spirit of positive production and being ranked number one in the world. We are losing and will continue to lose if the attitudes, actions, and lack of professional pride continue to exist as it does at the Stepan plant in Columbus, GA.

Worst management I’ve ever seen!!! If Stepan didn’t have multiple locations this plant would not exist!!! (The maintenance manager look’s like handy manny) and run’s his department like a pre school!! Low wages for skilled workers!!
