I had the absolute best time at Crissons. It was my first time panning for gold and gem mining, and it by far exceeded my expectations. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I was so pleased with my gems that we purchased an additional bucket to mine and I was not disappointed. This place is great and the value can't be beat. If I am in the area again, I will definitely go back.

Visited with family and it was a blast for all ages. A cool place that was a true gold mine in the past so there was lots of history on display. Felt like we were doing true gold mining with pans and everything. They’ve also got gem mining for those a bit more impatient, which was also a lot of fun.

The whole family had a great time at this attraction! The price of admission is $15.95 per person. This price includes a pan for mining gold, a bucket of sand for gold, a bucket of gems for mining, a self guided historical tour of gold mining equipment, and staff to help you through the process. The gold mining was great. The process is actually very time consuming and uses a lot of arm muscles. It was really educational to see how hard gold panners had to work. Each of us had several gold flakes in our pan when we finished. They give you a glass bottle to put your flakes in to take home.

Next, we sifted our sand for gems. This was our favorite part. We each pulled out several gem types: Ruby, emerald, jasper, pyrite, and quartz. We liked it so much we purchased another 3 lb bucket of gems.

When you finish mining, you can have your gems cut and made into jewelry in their store. They have a gem cutter on staff. I have always wanted an orange citrine necklace, so I had one made. I’m excited to wear a stone I found.

Do yourself a favor and take a trip here. Your family will enjoy it.

Crisson Gold Mine is truly a Dahlonega gold mine, both literally and figuratively. If you are visiting Dahlonega, this place is a must see.
My family arrived at the end of the day on New Year's Eve 30 minutes from closing. The Crisson Family was welcoming and gracious.
We panned for gold and screened for gemstones, and everyone had a great time. Each of us pruduced gold, and the vial pictured shows the typical amount for each of us. Next, we screened some sand and aggregate for gemstones,
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and Crisson Gold Mine is the highlight of our trip to Dahlonega. If we ever come to this area again, we will certainly return to Crisson Gold Mine.

We aren't new to gold panning and have done our share of sitting along streams and rivers to get our "fix" (along with the freezing cold wet fingers).
We splurged and bought the $225 bag and it was so much fun, we'll be getting another one soon.
There was plenty of gold to make it worth our while and even had three nice sized pickers.
Our plan is to visit the mine in person (we have family a few hours away), but for now, we'll keep buying gold bags and panning it in nice warm water 😘

My spouse and I went here for our anniversary, and had a wonderful time. The gentleman who instructed us in gold and gem panning was very knowledgeable, and friendly. The lady in the shop was just as knowledgeable and friendly.

They also can make a jewelry piece from gems you have panned. The prices are very reasonable, and they go over all your options, so you know exactly what you're getting.

I'd definitely give the place more than 5 stars if I could! we panned for gold for real, and then did gem mining, they have a HUGE almost museum of the old gold mine equipment all still set up and I believe most of it still works!! couple of interactive pieces to enjoy, then the store is absolutely Massive, they will even cut jewelry from the stones you mine! really cool experience! Very friendly people! Highly recommend

Gold is salted, but its fun. Just know the gold customers find or buy was not dug from any open pits here. That is misleading to customers. I did enjoy all the mine equipment and gold pay dirt. Bought lots of pay dirt and had a good time running the dirt with family members once we hauled it home hours away. Would do it again! I should add we are experience prospectors with months of panning every year from Alabama to Colorado. Good fun and exercise.
