I scheduled a very important exam (9-hour exam requiring months of prep) here. On the day of the exam, the center canceled my exam along with some 30 other applicants' (we were all there standing in line ready to take the exam!) at 8:30 am without any prior notice because they only had 2 certified staff members who both called in sick.

Yes it's that ridiculous! But the worst part was that they didn't do ANYTHING to reschedule our exams and simply sent us an email instructing us to go to the Prometric website and reschedule there, not caring at all about the people who had prepared mentally for their exams and all the trouble that comes with rescheduling (work, accommodation, transport, etc.)

Horrible management and absolutely irresponsible. I simply picked this center because it was closer to where I live but would recommend against scheduling any important tests here.

I would like to file a complaint for extremely poor customer service I experienced today on 4/10/2023 at Prometric Test Center #0072 Atlanta - Peachtree Dunwoody Road. I was checked in at 7:30 AM to sit for my exam at 8 AM; however, I had to wait for over an hour and a half to finally sit for my exam after 9 AM. When I asked what the holdup was, I received no answers and the employee shut the door on my face! I finally started taking my exam at 9:30 AM, then about 50 minutes into my exam my computer lost power suddenly shut off! I had to wait another 15 minutes for assistance to resume my exam, and ultimately I lost 10 precious minutes of time from my exam because the clock kept running. The checkout process too an extremely long time because the employee lacked training and competence. It pains me and left me utterly traumatized with today’s experience and I would love to know what can be done to rectify this situation, and hold this test center's employees accountable for their failure to perform the bare minimum at their jobs.

I've taken two different tests here in the last week. I thought I'd share a few notes to help others to know what to expect.

- There are several parking garages right next to the building, I didn't have any issues finding parking.
- I arrived 45 minutes before the start time of my exams (the GACE for Special Education and the Praxis for Special Education) and was allowed to start early both times.
- They have lockers inside Prometric and they give you a key to put your personal belongings in during your test.
- You are only allowed to keep your ID and your locker key on your person. Everything else goes in your locker. Depending on which exam you take, you may have a break and you may or may not be allowed to access your locker during your break. I was allowed to get water and a snack out of my locker during my break but had to go to the lobby of the building to eat/drink. I wasn't allowed to exit the building.
- The staff was kind and professional. They had me turn out my pockets, they looked at my wrists and had me raise my pants legs an inch to look at my ankles, and had me take off my glasses to examine them. They waved a metal detector wand in front and back of my body, but they didn't touch me.
- There are a couple different test rooms full of computers in little cubbies. The staff brings people in and out of the rooms, as other people are there taking any number of exams at all times. When I went on a Thursday at 7:45 AM I was the first one there. I went again on a Monday at 12:45 PM and there were many others already testing, but I only had to wait for 2 people to be cleared to start before me.
- Staff was quick and efficient. Follow their directions.
- They give you scratch paper and pencils (although this depends on the exam you are taking. I saw them give one woman sheet protector graph paper and dry erase markers). They will not give you more scratch paper unless you have filled all the space on all sides of the scratch paper.
- If you need a break during your test, you are to stand up and raise your hand and make eye contact through the window at the testing proctor. They will give you a hand motion wave when it's ok for you to come out of the room. Same procedure for when you are done with your test.
- There was some noise in the testing room from other people's computers (mouse clicking, keyboard typing) but they provide everyone with headphones to wear to drown out the noise. I did hear a little bit of noise from outside the testing area as the staff processed other people, but it was pretty minimal and not very loud.

I hope this helps. Best of luck, and happy testing!

Better than the nearby Pearson Center wish all my exams were here.

Other comments say what need to be said about processing. Personally, the staff is accommodating.

The biggest thing for me is they create a stress-free environment right before the exam and are very professional and accommodating if there is a processing error.

I’m onto 15+ standardized test in my career so im generally unaffected by environment and have seen processing errors, unexpected test center closures, etc. With that said, and having been to many test centers in the past that stress people out, especially first time standardized test takers.

I applaud this location, because that can make a difference for someone with exam anxiety.

The job of a test center is to provide an environment in which test takers can best show what they know without distraction or compromised results. On both these fronts, Prometric is failing dramatically at this particular test center. I have taken several standardized tests with Prometric, and never before have I seen such a poorly managed site.

I took a test here yesterday and the main issue was that the proctors refused to give you new scratch paper even for a new section of the test if you had any space left on your paper at all (even a sliver); and to make matters worse, when you asked for new paper, while the time was running, they would sometimes take up to two minutes to bring new paper. If you had any space still left, they would interact with you DURING THE EXAM and tell you to finish using the space on your paper. It was incredibly unprofessional and illustrated a lack of knowledge of the most important part of their job: providing a distraction-free environment to ensure the integrity of the test results.

This proved incredibly stressful for me and for several others taking all sorts of exams: board exams, CPA, etc. It affected my score tremendously compared to my practice exam just before.

The second but perhaps related way in which this center failed me specifically is they provided me with a scratch sheet that already had formulas written on it. When I tried to receive a new paper given this error, they again refused. This even more than the prior issue botched my test results entirely. I will have to re-take the exam and of course, will do so anywhere else but here.

In short, if you are considering taking an exam at this center that necessitates scratch paper, you will be better off avoiding this center altogether. Other centers are much more professional and focus on what really counts: ensuring test-takers have exactly what they need to take the exam in front of them.

I would give this location ZERO stars if I could. I had my exam scheduled at 8:30 this morning along with 50 other candidates. We were all waiting in line, locked out of the room till 8:00. The person in charge did not have the key nor access to start the tests or check in process. Her co worker called in sick the morning of. Their second co worker was in the ER the morning of too or so we were told. Their back up personel did not show up. Their manager was in Canada.
All in all, we were given NO heads up and several people had travelled from near and far to take their respective exams. We still haven't received our refund for the exam nor a reschedule notice.
You may have a good experience on other days if you get lucky but this place is a hit or miss. If you have other availability, go there! DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION.

This is a very unprofessional and stressful location to take your important exam. The computers are absolute garbage and the employees are discriminatory and rude. The building is very nice and the bathrooms are clean.

I was surprised at how low the reviews were on here because I had a very nice experience. Staff were polite, helpful and very informative. In fact, one lady called me prior to my test time to let me know that my seat was available whenever I was. Very impressed. COVID guidelines were followed better than any place I’ve been in recent months. Testing room was silent and the whole thing was a smooth and quick process. You will be provided with a locker for valuables. Very impressed with how this place is run. Amazing staff!
