I have always had good experiences with Emerson City Hall. I love the unique "Emerson Voting Precinct" street sign in the parking lot, the Historic sign in the front near the sitting area of the circular fountain path.

They are just a business. Don't care about your issues at all. We are behind on our bill because of things we just have no control over. Health issues, transportation issues, etc. We have been in this house 21 years and have never been disconnected once in that time. We have an $80 deposit on file. For some reason when I went to pay the past due amount this month to keep the service on it was $40 more than it has ever been. Which is odd because we have 3 less people in our house and it has not only not went down but it keeps climbing. She said it must have been something on our end like a toilet hung up. Seriously!! No toilet runs that much. Especially without someone noticing. Maybe it's your fault. Maybe check?!? No cause it's easier to just push it on the customer and disconnect. Make more money that way too. She even said if she wasn't short handed, maybe she could help me. Lol . I had the amount to pay what it usually is and asked if since we had been such loyal customers for 20 years couldn't they maybe put the deposit into our account this month to avoid disconnect and more fees. Or maybe let me make that $40 up next month. I'm not a risk. Been here 20 years. Anything so that I don't have to be here sick and with no water. I can't walk up there with the cash to pay the rest and I can't get to a bank to put more into my account. Nope. Nothing at all that they can do for their customers. Oh well. Unfortunately we have no other options since they are the only water company. All of Emerson is like this though so hopefully anyone thinking about moving here...won't . It was ok for the first few years but they have gotten so greedy. Most towns take care of their own a least a little and are greedy to outsiders. Emerson does it the other way around.

Good luck getting a sense of urgency from anyone there. If you are the one without power for 5+ days that's fine because it doesn't effect them personally so don't expect anyone to bend over backwards to help you out with anything.
