I called and asked if they had diatomaceous earth in stock. I was told they did, so I drove over (20+ minute drive). When I got there I was told "we thought we had it but we must have sold it, sorry." It would have taken seconds to verify that they had it in stock. Customer service and respect go a long way for any business, but especially small businesses. I am someone who tries to spend my money to support the loca small businesses, but sometimes you realize they don't always make the effort to earn/keep your business. I called the other local feed store ( Folkston Feed) and not only did they say they had it, but she verified it was in stock without even being asked. That's how a small business earns a customer.
