When GFL first purchased locally owned Time Disposal I thought we would lose any sense of customer service, but I have had the great fortune to work with people who have been dedicated in their job, take on more responsibility than I’m sure they are compensated for and been timely and purposeful in helping me with whatever issues that come up. The new service team is addressing some communication issues that had been absent (any and all communication is welcomed) and they have been wonderfully thoughtful and creative when it came to a recent contract renewal. I know that my contact is probably doing two jobs at once and I don’t want to bother her, yet she still makes time to help me resolve any and all issues that arise. The service on the street has been consistent and reliable, the drivers treat our neighborhood well (no spillage, no speeding) and when I see them on other roads in the area, they are also looking toward safety vs. speed (unfortunately, I cannot say the same about some other trucks that have gone through in recent months). Big companies are still run by individuals, and the folks here are spot on.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is the absolute worst company when it comes to customer service. Finally got fed up and switched providers. If you have other options- use it and DO NOT go with them. They have continuously missed our pickup due to errors on their end. They have not updated information on our account after calling multiple times (over the span of two years). They have TAKEN our personal trash can and refused to replace it. Worst company I’ve ever dealt with.

Have not picked up trash for three weeks. Would call twice a day for three days straight and would only get the continuing prompt for twenty minutes. Gave up and went to there facility where I was told reason for mist pickup was a new driver, then told would call me back the same day to arrange a pickup and refund for misted pickups. Three days later and still waiting for that phone call. Canceled service and now with a local company which did a courtesy pickup to help us out because of GFL's neglect. The absolutely worst customer service. The employees at this facility do not care about there customers or the company they work for.

I am going into my 10th phone call to and third week without service from GFL Environmental. It is very discouraging as the call service in PA always promises action and that does not happen. I need to change services but what to do with 3 weeks of trash that have now accumulated?

If you have any other choice, please pick it for the sake of your sanity. Trash is not picked up promptly and when you call the out of state office, the staff is very friendly, promises action, but then there is no follow through. Then when I cancelled they made me continue to pay for 2 additional weeks to pick up the trash that had not picked up in 2 weeks and the recycle that they had not picked up in 6 weeks. Just avoid them if possible.

I want to share my experience after relocating to a different county canceling my service and paying off what I owed prior to leaving the old residence. I received a surprise a week ago in the mail stating that they had sent to a collection agency MCS a collection request for a bill of 8428 that I never owed. I contacted GFL Ruckersville, Virginia residential trash service twice verifying that the account was closed and I owed no outstanding balance. You can imagine my surprise when I receive the collection bill, I have been going round and round with these people for the last week and a half trying to get this situation resolved with this collection agency being involved with this situation. I have talked to Kayla on two different occasions. I have not noted the time I contacted and each time her response was the account is closed and I owe no outstanding balance , plus she told me she would send me a email verifying this fact as well as contacting the collection agency. I have not received an email nor has the collection agency received notification from GFL Ruckersville trash service that this has to be changed and I owe no outstanding balance. I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau. I’m filing a complaint against GFL for faults billing practices , stay away from GFL!

I just had to cancel my service because our trash was skipped repeatedly. When we called in to report it, they told me their system was down or updating and customer service was very rude and argumentative.

Then they had the audacity during cancellation to ask me what was wrong. This woman ARGUED with me about receiving a refund on our last non-pickup for 5 minutes because we should have called the next day to confirm non-pickup (we had) until she actually checked the account to see that we had called several times and a refund was already being processed. The customer service person canceling the accounts in Ruckersville is absurdly under qualified to do her job.

Pick ANYONE else. Have a dude in a random truck hall away your trash, it would probably provide better service than this company. SERIOUSLY. Yikes.

This is by far the worst utility company I’ve ever tried to deal with. When I asked to receive a paper bill I only received it half the time. When I asked to be placed on autopay the payment doesn’t get made. You can’t get customer service on the phone. You can’t make a payment through their phone portal because it requires you speak your account number which it never hears correctly (not to mention the $4 “convenience” fee). Their online payment portal doesn’t barely work. This is the only trash company in my area and at this point I might as well just take my trash to the dump myself since they won’t come pick it up anyway…
