Negligence and no concern for your items or animal's lives is how I would summarize this distribution center. File with the OIG if you have issues; this center needs a revamp.

Because of avoidable delays, this center caused the deaths of 11 of our chicks (out of 14). From what we can tell, they received them on time, but let the babies sit on a truck overnight while in transit to our local office. USPS doesn't care. They don't have to care because no one holds them accountable, yet they added a $15 surcharge for live poultry shipping this year. For what if this is the result? If they were a for-profit business, they'd have gone under long ago. We called, we drove to the distribution center, we got several different stories on where our chicks were or weren't, we honestly thought at one point they'd been stolen.

HIGHLY recommend with all the recent reviews on this center that you file with the office of Inspector General for USPS. Google USPS Office of Inspector General, and file your complaint. I've seen plenty of negligence reviews here. They should do better. I will be filing with the OIG and pushing for investigation.

This Regional Distribution Center loses packages frequently. No one knows why this dysfunctional location never improves service. It's a stain on the city of Seattle because mail is unreliable, and it's a gamble if you will even receive your packages. My most recent disappointing experience is happening now. A book I ordered was sent to HAWAII from this location. The seller had to submit a lost mail inquiry, and it's still roaming the earth somewhere. My nightmare will be that the book makes it back to this Regional Center only to be misrouted once again. Who knows, maybe the USPS will deliver my package to Alaska this time instead of the address printed on the label.

I can’t seem to wrap my head around as to why packages sit at this location for so long. I have a package with an estimated delivery for March 11th, arrived at Seattle Distribution Center on the 10th, and as of today the 15th it has been sitting idle ever since it arrived. This is ridiculous. I live 40 minutes away. This shouldn’t be an inconvenience to anyone, especially for people who pay extra for priority shipping. This seems to be a common issue with this location. All these other reviews say their packages flow smoothly through the system until it gets here. There needs to be an explanation as to why this specific distribution warehouse is holding our packages. At least give us the option to pick it up if you’re gonna hold our packages for over a week without giving us a reason.

Why are my packages always being held up here. Is someone stealing them or what? It's not like Seattle is the only place experiencing the holiday rush. My packages seem to flow pretty smoothly until they hit this place. They they "disappear" off the grid.

They murdered my baby chickens. We used express mail, the box was clearly labeled live animals, and chicks are very noisy. There’s no way they didn’t know what it was, but the package was over a day late and spent the night on a cold truck. I drove three hours to try to save them, the people at the distribution center were no help whatsoever and tried to shift the blame onto my local post office.

Stuck in a timeloop? Why Sorry, kids. Guess you're not getting anything from your aunt for Christmas. $70 for 3-day shipping too. I tell myself every single time to go to UPS or FedEx instead. Why do I keep doing this?
Update: After 6 calls to customer service, a return to sender request, and missing mail inquiries that kept magically getting "resolved" even though it was far from resolved, the parcel was finally delivered to the intended post office 27 days after it's doomed journey began. It even looks like Seattle drove over it with the mail truck a few times for good measure.

I can't express my frustration with this service. We tried to send Holiday gifts to our children and grandkids. The package included items my 80-year-old mom knitted herself for her great-grandkids! You can't just go and buy them. Also, the package is so big that it is unbelievable that it could just get lost!
First, I never received thier email regarding the claim until I contacted the USPS service again today. It was a call #3. Second, no one could explain why the package had been sent from Seattle to Alaska. This is a domestic transaction from Washington state to Oregon.
We understand that holiday season pressure can cause chaos, but even so, It was sitting for 10 days in the Seattle distribution center before being moved to Alaska. Alaska? Why? It has been 3 weeks since we sent it.
All this makes me distrust USPS service if I ever consider using it again!

I have had a package at this location for a week. It’s a 45 min drive so I could have picked it up faster than they take to process. Right now it shows it was sent to Spokane and of all things was sent right back to the Seattle district center for the 4th time! Not sure who is working there but pretty sure they need a better system or maybe some training! What is worse no one ever answers the phone!
