Paul just completed for us a fairly complicated shade structure that had both a lattice component and solid roof component. He included some special adaptations that allowed us (Paul does not do woodwork) to install a wood tongue and groove ceiling on the underside of the solid roof component.

The design process took a while. Paul was patient and let us know what was feasible with steelwork and what he thought would look the best.

To look at the finished structure, with the roof 14-feet above the ground, one would not guess that a one-man operation could get all the work done without an assistant. But Paul has various techniques that he has honed over the years that work well.

He was careful around our property and deliberate in his work with the goal of producing a final result that he can be proud to have constructed.

Paul's communication was great throughout the process. He would text in advance the days that he would be at our house working and he would again text that morning to let us know when he would be arriving.

The whole process of working with Paul was a very good experience for us and we are very pleased with the shade structure. It is unique and it is exactly what we had in mind when we started to come up with ideas for some extra backyard shade.

Paul recently completed a second project at our home. The first was a beautiful currugated steel wall with his trademark weathered-rust patina. This time he built custom bridge railings over an extended wash at the rear of our property. As before, Paul reviewed our functional needs and design ideas and came back with a workable, affordable solution. We had great communication, execution and feedback throughout the job. This is the guy you want to do anything metal at your home!

We recently hired Paul to build a large awning, complete with a fence and an automatic gate. He showed up on time to give us our quote and talk through all the design elements and options. I recently hired Paul to replace the gates for access to my side/rear yards. Paul met with me, took measurements, then sat down to explain my options along with the price points and the pros and cons of each option. Paul listened to me and helped me make an informed choice about the new gates. Paul explained the timeline, the installation process, and possible delays due to supply chain disruption. During the three weeks between meeting with Paul and the installation, Paul did a fantastic job keeping me updated. Additionally, I purchased artwork Paul created. Paul is truly talented, and he has a great eye for design. When it came time to chose the finish for the metal gates, I left the decision for Paul to make based upon matching the paint and trim of my home. I am happy with Paul's decision.
Paul is an absolute professional, and the quality of his work really showed. I am very happy with the work Paul did for me, and look forward to hiring him for future projects.

I have nothing but praise for Paul and the quality of his work. His technical range and artistic eye are both masterful. He has completed two projects so far on my property (over the past 6 months) and I hope there will be many more. I included pictures of both projects and I get nothing but compliments from family, friends, co-workers, contractors (too many things break in my old house), and delivery people.

If it's relevant, I can compare working with him to working with a skilled tattoo artist. For the best experience possible, you want an artist with incredible range, understands the subject matter, asks you the right questions to understand your own vision, and the ability to make the right edits to your idea and make it even better than you could have imagined. Similarly with Paul, I felt he preserved the things that inspired me in my original description but - leaning on his skill & experience - improved it tenfold, both structurally and artistically.

When the inspector for the city of Phoenix showed up to review the fence Paul built, he looked it over and said "Huh, that's different", smiled, tried to shake it as hard as he could and then concluded with "Well, that's not going anywhere" and filled out the approval form (or whatever it's called).

Paul completed a fence for my front yard (steel and masonry combined) and my backyard (steel, mounted on existing masonry), and in both cases produced structures that are extremely strong. The original backyard fence he built over left a lot to be desired, but Paul found a way to work with the strongest pieces of existing masonry, columns and footing (where it did exist) and not only vastly improved the strength and beauty of the backyard fence but also kept the cost down significantly.

EXCELLENT WORK!!!
After contacting several fence and gate companies and getting expensive quotes to replace my old RV gate and another gate on the side of my house, I contacted this gentleman/artist/owner Paul, and he offered to come the next day, after finishing another job, to see what he thought could be done. Paul texted me to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time and was the ONLY COMPANY who suggested that he could work with the existing framing and modify it with some fabrication to help keep the costs down, rather than just replacing everything.
Paul’s quote was surprisingly reasonable and considerably less than 3 other companies.
I agreed with his suggestions and pricing,
Again, Paul texted me on the day he was starting the job to let me know when he would arrive.
Paul is a true artist and perfectionist, changing out old hinges with newly welded hinges, changing the clearance at the bottom to make certain everything opened and closed smoothly, fabricating the framing to add height and width and replacing the wood fronts with welded sheet steel.
I chose to have him paint it all flat black, as a clean and dramatic contrast to my white house, rather than having him do some of his beautiful patina work.
Giving Paul the respect he deserves as an artist and professional, I highly recommend him and his work. I could not be happier with the end result and apparently, neither could one of my neighbors who stopped by and asked for Paul’s business card because he loved the look of the new fencing and gates.
