Such a great experience kayaking today. The views were so beautiful. Service was fantastic, the staff inside as well as the gentleman that assisted us to get on the kayak.

I was so touched by the staff here at Veterans Park Kayak Rentals. I came to hopefully kayak with my pup, but since my dog had never done it before, I couldn’t be sure it was a good fit. I stopped by the dock to ask a couple questions and Mike graciously allowed me and my pup to “try out” the kayak to see if he was into it - that way I didn’t pay for 2 hours and not be able to go. Nathan was also super helpful and wasn’t afraid to help my dog out when he was scared to get in. Nathan and a girl (I forgot to ask her name - she told me she owns a lab!) were so patient with both of us and gave my Golden lots of love. After we agreed to give it a go, we went to the main office to reserve a 2-person kayak (80lb dog!) and they only charged us for a 1 person. All the staff in the main office were super friendly as well. Thanks again to the super dog-friendly staff here - you can tell everyone has a genuine love for them.

The kayaks are parked on the shore. Quick access to the kayak launch site from the rental office. The launch site is near a park with a small scenary of bridge and waterfall that is accessible via kayak.
Tip: we found a 10% off coupon available on the website and even a lower coupon on Groupon. Be sure to check them out.

I bought a board and bindings here and had a great experience! I looked at lots of reviews and videos of boards and bindings online, so I had a good idea of what I wanted, but I didn't have a chance to demo anything. I needed to make sure that my picks were solid. The people at the shop were super knowledgeable and helped me a lot. Of the two bindings that I had chosen, the shop guy owned both himself and was able to give me first hand info on the differences. When it came to the board, a girl in the shop rode the one I wanted and it was their favorite board. These things really helped me to make choices that worked for me. I love my new setup, it's the best I've had in years, and it makes such a difference! Plus, I bought last year's models on both, so they have me a great discount. Super happy, and definitely recommend!

I received excellent service and was really happy with the gear! I am an advanced and picky skier but with the tech's help I was able to rent a great pair of skis and make the most of my day on the mountain. The reservation, check-out, and return process were all really smooth, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you need a rental at Big Bear, look no further!

I absolutely loved my experience with them! Free ample parking nearby, quick and easy check in process, really friendly staff, clean bathroom, and of course great kayaks.

After we got our wristbands, it was a super short walk down to the dock. We received our life jackets and a safety brief that was both informative, short, AND entertaining. It was nice that they had a shoe rack so I could go barefoot, you know it's the little details to the experience that make it above and beyond.

Okay on to kayaking! They launched us and the double kayak (btw they had so many kayaks!) was clean and great. We had a beautiful day on the lake, truly it couldn't have been better. They recommended which way to go based on wind and were right (as you'd expect). We didn't get super wet up top but expect your entire bottom half to be soaked, but the water was cool and refreshing, not cold.

Highlight of my Big Bear trip and I couldn't have done it without the amazing people and kayaks from Getboards!

This place Rocks! We've come here a few times for bike rentals and we are never disappointed... They treat you so well and make sure you are going to have a great time!! Brennan knocked it out of the park for us today by just making sure everything was right. We had a small issue and he made sure that we had a great time and gave us a little extra time! His customer service and attitude exceeds all standards! Thank you Brennan for the great time and we will definitely be back!
