5 stars all the way around, if you’re going to stay in big bear, stay here. The resort is so charming and clean it has a sauna, restaurant & bar that has live music and open mic nights. Darren the AGM checked us in and there’s nothing better than walking into a new place and being greeted by a cool, genuine, kind human being. He took really good care of any request or question we had during our trip and we will most definitely be back to see him and the rest of the staff.

If available, book the suite. Especially if you’re going with your sweetheart

Giving 5 stars for James- front desk on 5/20. I checked in on 5/19 for a 4-day stay. On 5/20, the power went out around noon and wasn’t predicted to be back on until the next day. James was very patient and kind to everyone trying to checkout. He kept track of everything in regard to my refund, making me feel like I could trust him. The rooms were spacious, slightly outdated as was the rest of the facility. The hotel itself is in a prime area, with free parking.

Upon arriving at 9 pm the young lady behind the counter was very helpful. We went to the room and it was a little small so we asked for and upgrade and she spoke to he night shift manager and charged us accordingly and the room was wonderful.
Everyone we encountered on the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Even the cook came out and said hi during the breakfast.
The room was very clean and the bedding was amazing. I slept all thru the night.

Cannot rave enough about the service at The Lodge at Big Bear Lake. Recently had two rooms during Spring Break and brought extended family over New Year's week with five rooms and suites. Each time Deron and Stephanie have taken care of helping us with special requests and banquet rooms and so many other details to make us want to come back again and again. The hotel is right at the beginning of the village street where all of the finest restaurants and stores are located. And only a ten minute drive to ski slopes. Hotel has ample parking and a delightful restaurant on the premises with a full bar. Have stayed at different hotels in Big Bear and The Lodge at Big Bear I feel is the finest all around hotel in town. Thanks Deron and Stephanie- look forward to my next stay!

Apparently the air conditioning on the second and third floors has not functioned properly since the wildfires which led to my 3rd floor room being almost unbearably warm. To be fair, it was stuck at about 75 degrees, which I'm sure is tolerable for some, but I'm a 65 degree hotel room sleeper, so it may not apply to everyone. Lol Otherwise a great stay. I was able to overlook the furnace of a room due to the overwhelming hospitality of the staff. They're doing great work, give them some bonuses!

This is the second time I've stayed at this property when the pool and hot tub were closed even though there was no mention of this on their website. Pretty disappointed in the grounds of this property. There is a very nice patio to enjoy the outdoors here but there was absolutely no furniture out until we had to ask and got the runaround several times before the pool furniture came out. I understand it was between seasons but those are easy problems to fix

I had an exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable experience at the Hawthorn Hotel. ||The hotel's location was ideal, with numerous supermarkets and restaurants conveniently located within a 1-kilometer radius. Dining at the Lavender Restaurant was a delightful experience, and the breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety of delicious options. ||The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive to all my needs. I want to specifically thank **Arbab** for his outstanding professionalism and kindness. His efforts truly made my stay memorable, as he went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. ||I highly recommend the Hawthorn Hotel and look forward to staying there again in the future. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience.

The location was outstanding however the accommodations and customer service is horrible. First, the free breakfast that we pre-paid was not free, all you get is a $12 dollar voucher for two people to use but I booked and prepaid for 4. This was a big scam and the hotel claims the restaurant is independent but it's bult into the hotel. Nothing on the booking website claims that breakfast is capped at two people or that its not really included. The restaurant does not have anything on the menu for $12 so you will end up paying extra plus drinks, the service and food was horrible. They are understaff, messed up the orders so be prepare to wait for at least an hour. The room gets hot and its centrally controlled so you either open the window or suck it up. When it snows, the hotel is multi tiered so snow will start falling making loud thump noises which will keep you up. I called the front desk and gentlemen gave me an attitude and spoke to me in a sarcastic way and had to check him. This occur at 2:00 AM because I could not sleep due to the heat and noise. the next morning I went to the front desk looking for the manager but was out and about and the lady at the counter offered no help as well. Is very frustrating because no one really tries to address the issues. I was not the only one as many other people shared the same frustration or will be arguing with the staff as well. I just ended up calling the booking company and they got frustrated as well because they received no cooperation's from the management but at least the booking company will reimbursed me back the additional $100 I spent on breakfast. I will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it as well and will ensure to let everyone know. Lastly I will be calling Hiltons corporation and filing and complaint, for not only the horrible service but the false advertisement as well.
