I called Bear Valley Lock and Key and the guy who answered was very helpful. He went to their shop and found a key that worked for my truck. He checked maps and they were 30 mins away. His tech showed up about 1 hour later and had an attitude because I called after waiting 45 mins to ask where he was at. We had agreed on a price of $400 and he said itโ€™s $450. I told him that his manager said it would be $400. He said no and got in his truck, did a burn out and left. His manager called me to make sure the driver arrived and I explained what had happened. Hope the company can find a replacement technician who better represents their brand. Plus, my Roomate gave my spare key to an uber driver and I ended up having the key delivered for $73.93 from OC ๐Ÿ˜Ž Thanks to the thug who showed up for saving me $376.07!

DO NOT USE. lost my key and they replaced it. Initially worked but first time I turned off my car it wouldnโ€™t start. Completely messed up the interior computer. Had to have a third party fix it. When I told them about the issue. They completely ignored my emails and were no help on the phone. Terrible company!! Very rude and unprofessional!!!

We had an urgent need to help some guests who got locked out of the house and Ryan was on the scene in less than 30 min to save the day - even on a holiday! Ryan was fast, effective, professional, and communicated clearly. This was our first encounter with Bear Valley Lock and Key and Iโ€™ve already saved their number for the future.

Amy, who is a locksmith and a woman!! Was fabulous! Service to program a push start key would have cost me over 300.00 at a dealership not counting driving down the hill. Thank you so much! Great Service affordable price.! Thank you

BEWARE OF SCAM!
I lost the keys of my 2021 Ford Transit. I called bear valley via AAA and the lady on the phone was helpful but asked for a non-refundable $95 for a code.

However, the service was subpar and ended up being a scam.

The truck came about 5 hours after my call which is really long. Then, without even checking my ID (which is supposed to be required) the driver went to open the door of my van and started to fiddle with his tablet. I was hopeful but he then told me that he couldn't program the key since the vehicle was older than 2020 - which makes me wonder why they didn't mention that over the phone when I sent a copy of the registration. So much time wasted! Because he showed up so late, it now started to be late to be towed to the next dealership before they closed.

To make it worse, he told me that I had to pay $232 for the useless plastic key or he would leave with it. We're talking about a plastic key you can buy for $15 on Amazon, and that had been cut but not programmed! I would have understood better if he asked me to pay for gas and time - even though he knew before coming that he couldn't open a van newer than 2020 - but asking this outrageous price for a non-programmed key is were the scam is.

Long story short, I was told by the tow driver (who came less than one hour later) that other locksmiths in the Mountain were honest and better equipped - like the one in Lake Arrowhead. Do your research before calling anybody and do NOT call Bear Valley...

In the meantime, I will do my best to have this dishonest company removed from the AAA directory and save others the same terrible experience.

We lost our key and called this place for a quote. They quoted me $425 for a 2003 tundra which normally would be the less expensive since it is old. I called triple a to see how much they would reimburse. When triple a called this โ€œbusinessโ€ they then told them my quote is 600$. I called back and they completely changed my quote to 600$ just because they could. We were stranded and desperate and cold. I had my friend call for a quote and they quoted him 425$. This business is a joke. They take advantage of people who need help and have no remorse. On top of that, he then claimed it was a raise in price because of the holiday. The date is January 7. They are inconsistent and trying any and every way to scam people. They should be shut down and seriously reviewed by the BBB.

Would rate 0 stars if possible.

This people are not honest, do NOT call them if you lost the keys of your car: you will be better off by contacting just about any other locksmith in the area!

They agree to take a road assistance from AAA just to scam the people in need for help. They ask money up front for cutting the key and that's how it starts.

Then they show up with a key that opens the door but does not start the vehicle. Their key is a basic model that cannot be programmed, even though the operator pretends to do so by plugging a tablet to the dashboard. This is an elaborate scam: when the car doesn't start, they pretend that their key can only be programmend by the dealer and try to sell this dummy key for a couple hundred. They have no shame!
Their excuse doesn't even make sense: They pretend that they cannot program their key because the vehicle is too recent. But since they needed the VIN number to cut the key, how come they didn't realise that before showing up? That's when people should realize they are being scammed.

After talking to a AAA manager, we've been told that the Auto Club would open an investigation and take action to stop doing business with them. So be careful yourself and don't fall for the scam!
