I reached out to Mr McDaniel’s office last week, a week after sending an email that got no response. I contacted him because he came highly recommended for fighting a similar case in a nearby community. When I called, a polite young woman answered. I explained that I was calling for a consultation about an issue I was having, possibly a private nuisance claim. She placed me on a brief hold and came back with a completely different tone and said, “We are not working these types of cases anymore and we do not have any referrals for you.” The shift in demeanor was so sharp and cold it felt like a slap in the face, especially because I have spoken with plenty of attorneys over the years. Whether they could take my case or not, I was always given the courtesy of speaking directly with the attorney. This was the first time a receptionist shut me down like that, and the first time an attorney, in this case Mr McDaniel, had his receptionist deliver a message like that instead of speaking to me directly or hearing me out before turning me away. Because of that interaction, I left a one star review stating that he would not even talk to me for a consultation, reflecting my true honest experience. Shortly after, I received a call from a number I did not recognize, followed by a text that said “pls call ATTY McDaniel.” I called back and Mr McDaniel answered the phone himself. His first words were not hello or how can I help. He jumped right into, “I’m trying to figure out why you left me a one star review on Google,” in a tone that felt aggressive and intended to intimidate. I explained to him that the review was based on my first impression and interaction with his office. He told me that I did not even give him enough time to call him back and said he felt my intent was to hurt his business. I let him know that I do not know him personally, so I have no idea where he would get that from. I told him that my intention was never to harm his business. I was genuinely reaching out for legal help. That was 100% my only reason for calling. After going back and forth, he sarcastically said that he could help me. I told him no, this entire experience has been completely negative and I do not want any parts. I told him I would do him one better and delete the review so we could go our separate ways, and I did. This morning, I was going through my email and saw that he had already replied to the original review before I deleted it. He left a sassy comment stating that he was on the phone insinuating he was going to call me back after he got off the phone. He also stated during our call that I did not give him enough time to call him back, which absolutely made no sense. His receptionist had already made it clear that they do not handle these types of cases and had no referrals. So why would I expect a callback? So now that I know he responded to the original review before I deleted it, I am reposting today to tell the full story. He should think twice before leaving slick comments on honest feedback. There was a previous sassy comment he left under A Carters one-star review, but that has since been deleted after I brought it up on our phone call. So I see how his reviews are so high. If someone leaves him a bad review, he either tries to read you with a sassy, sarcastic comment like a woman, or he calls/texts your phone and trying to intimidate you. But yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does it again here.

BOTTOM LINE
Mr McDaniel is more concerned with reviews than people. He is defensive, unprofessional, and more focused on damage control than treating potential clients with basic respect. I would never recommend this law office for even a general legal question, let alone to fight a case.
