We sale several beef and hogs a year with appointments and delivery to rays. In all the years I have dealt with them I have never had a family dissatisfied with them. Most of my repeat customers request I use rays for their sausage. With beef you get what you got. If it’s a wild animal it’ll be tough. If it’s not grained it’ll be tough.

My nephew took a young steer up there to get slaughtered and cut. Service was good, price was good and cuts were great. The issue was the meat. I know the difference from a old cow and a young cow. All my meet is of a old cow. I am eating quite a bit of really tough meet, even the burger is tough. So my tender young cow was switched out with a very old cow. There is a difference trust me. Very disappointed since we birth, raise and then eat our own cows. Highly disappointed in the wrong meet if it was by accident or by purpose. Doesn't matter will never go back and out of a lot of money.

Brought in 2 hogs. They cured 1st set of hams and then sliced it all into steaks! Who does that? 2nd hog was way bigger than 1st but some how according to them weighed less. So I'm pretty sure we didn't get the right meat. Compared our bills and was over charged by more than $60 for processing. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!

Made appointment to have calf processed, three months prior to butchering date, put three months worth of feed in this calf, called Rays two days prior to kill date and asked him if we could possibly hang calf for a few extra days if possible, he immediately said get someone else to process your calf and hung up on me. Luckily was able to find a very professional meat processor the same day, just have to Wait a little longer. Would not recommend to anyone.

Rude, rude, rude. Will NEVER use again. Our meat was POORLY cut. They did not use food safe freezing practices. They cut the meat and then piled the fresh cuts into milk crates to freeze instead of laying to freeze in single sheets. This means that the meat in the centers will take longer to freeze and be held at temps that are not food safe. Did I mention rude? We came to pick up our meat and were treated like we were inconveniencing them.

Folks were friendly took my hog in got the meat back fast all has been better than I expected package to very well sausage is some of the best we’ve ever had and that comes from several different folks eaten at my table I am no hog farmer I raise 2 to 4 a year i’ve been to a lot of different places but from here on out this will be my go to as long as they’re in business
