Don't go here they overcharged me for a heater hose and labor that cost $ 236.00, and an FYI for the people new to this area. Their labor rate is $140 of the bat, not including the maintenance. You're better off taking your business elsewhere for less and professional service.

These guys saved our butts this week. We had our trailer wire connector come loose on our drive from Salt Lake to Lone Pine. Lost power to our trailer brakes, battery power, everything. We were on our way to climb Mt. Whitney and there was no way we were going to be able to haul the RV up the mountain like that. We called 8 different shops in the Lone Pine/Bishop area. This was the only shop that said they would help us on short notice. They had it fixed within a day and didn’t charge us an arm and a leg. Thank you Rob and Kelly for helping us out. We are so grateful!!!!!

Talked to John here for guidance on doing an entire exhaust system for a vehicle im trying to purchase. He would not help me at all without having the vehicle there. Terrible experience and felt unwanted.

Our family is traveling on an extended cross country trip and we were 3000 miles from home. We started experiencing trouble with our vehicle (bad wheel bearings). I called several mechanic shops to see about getting our service, but unfortunately every shop I called said they were weeks out from being able to help us. We were facing the prospect of being stranded for an extended period. A & L Auto originally said they couldn’t get us until the following week but put us on a call list in the event that a slot opened up. We received a call back the same afternoon letting us know that a slot had become available. A&L had our vehicle fixed the next day!! We didn’t even have to delay our travel schedule. They are an honest, reliable, fast and fair establishment and we praise God for their service. We highly recommend them!!

Why not shop local I thought took my truck in for a 3 hour job which should cost about $300, 8 hours later it was done......$1000.00 and they charged me for 7 hours of labor shop around if your shopping local

Avoid this place. We came in to get our muffler welded after part of it broke. As Canadians traveling with little funds, we were hopeful it wouldn’t be too much, especially since our Canadian dollar is so poor. The mechanic (John) told us we needed a whole new muffler. When we asked him if he could weld the part that broke so we could just get back to Canada then get it fixed, he walked away, and told his son (who was great) to just weld it. We didn’t even get to make a final decision, he made it for us. It was so unprofessional. We want a mechanic to work with us…and it’s as if he’s never learned how. Even if we do end up needing a new muffler, I’m glad we didn’t get the work done there. Every other staff member tried to make up for his behaviour at the end of our visit. It was so sad.

I’m not sure if he was just having a bad day, but based on the reviews below, it seems like typical behaviour from him. I hope your day (or life) gets better John.

Nice family owned shop, got me in the next day for a broken rear SUV shock. Replaced both. Informative, recommend, fast turnaround, up front.

Only downside is the price was too high @ $700 /3hrs (?) + 2 rear strut assembly. I was overcharged by one hour for sure. Job wasn't hard they said in the end. I guess you pay a premium for fast turn around, being a female, a traveller on the road, who knows. The assumption that people on the road are loaded with cash is really not correct or helpful.

I am Canadian, so it cost me over $900 for a rear shock job. Still recommend them but maybe ask for shop book rates before paying.
