I recently bought a power steering pump from Auto Zone (one of the distributors of ATSCO products). I got home and installed it correctly. Immediately it started whining and there was a terrible grinding sound so I had to remove it.

I then went back to the store and exchanged it for another one. The holes did not line up with the bracket and after three hours of messing with it I finally got it to fit. Once I filled it up with the very expensive MOPAR hydraulic fluid ($30.00 per quart) I noticed that it was leaking everywhere. This was due to the pump not paring up correctly with the reservoir.

Every time that I have to redo this same job I have to buy another quart of this fluid. I am now doing the job for the third time because this company did a poor job remanufacturing this power steering pump. (I'm up to $90.00 in hydraulic fluid and $60.00 of that is due to this company)

I am beyond frustrated with this company and I will be doing everything that I can to avoid buying anything else that came from them. I strongly recommend that you do the same.

(NOTHING IN THE PUMP IS NEW !!)...I worked for this company in 1999 and the reason that people are having issues with the pump's failing is because of the fast pace in which they are rebuilt in ! they are done at a very very fast pace and shim's in the pump are some time's too worn to go back into the pump's but they reuse them anyways ! they get most of their pump supply from junk yard's all over the country and a lot of them are in really bad shape ...... but they clean them up and reuse them any way ........very little in the pump is new the only thing new in the pumps are the seals and bearing's the rest is all reuse part's .......yep EVERYTHING is reused !! I will not buy a pump that comes from them as I know how they are made and that I am buying nothing but new seals and bearings the shim's i'm speaking of are on the back of the shaft that is what makes the pump pressure and makes the whole damn thing work so if they are used what the hell am I Buying a re-maned pump for if it's not re-maned with new part's ? ......just saying .......anyone reading this PLEASE save your money and go with a pump that is made by someone else that use's new part's best bet is too just buy a brand new pump and get it right the first time !! and just so everyone know's TRANNY fluid CAN be used in power steering pumps I have used it in every car I have ever owned and never had an issue with it my 1997 Jeep has had it since almost new the pump went out in it at just 1,498 mile's I replaced the pump with a brand new one filled it with tranny fluid and it now had 232,000 miles on the Jeep and still ticking !

I spoke to Luis regarding offering our product and he wanted an email with pricing and all the details but what he didn't understand is that we can't send a proposal without first making an assesstment of what he has. He failed to realize that based on the info we gather it will help us to send him a detailed proposal that will be more competative with what he has already. This guy cut me off quick without listening to as why it is important for an appointment. This guy clearly doesn't know how to do business!

Very disappointed with their products. They typically offer a shorter warranty than other re manufactures on automotive products. I recently had a power steering rack installed and it only lasted 2 weeks before leaking severely.
