Do NOT recommend at all!
I gave two stars because the gentleman is nice and courteous. However, they lack the knowledge/capability to process deer into anything other than boneless roasts and burger.
Attached are some pics;
“Processed” leg shanks ready to be cut into ossobucco…
Front shoulder bone in roast? They don’t have the ability to cut bone so I asked for it to be left whole and I would cut the scapula later. I received whole front quarters with the leg still attached down to the knee…..
I came home with 5 roasts approx 1lb each from the hind quarters…. How do you get an odd number?
I did end up with a large garbage bag full of burger; prob 35-40lbs each in a 1lb package.
Also was told $100 processing fee at drop off, paid $105 at pickup. It’s only $5 but be up front about pricing. I was “advised” that if I come back next year they will charge $5 per day from the initial call to pickup. Apparently 3 days was too long for them to hold meat in a freezer.
This is my second time in about 5 years using Brewer, I really wanted to give him another chance because of the friendly attitude at minimum but was highly disappointed again. I harvest 2-3 animals every year and use other another local processor with no issues. It’s sad to say that I won’t be giving this company a third chance.
