A friend of mine went to this church. They found out that he is a homosexual, so they made him leave. What kind of place is this? This is a church. The church is made for the broken, sick, sinners, etc. He should have been welcomed with open arms! If God is telling you that homosexuality is a sin, you should have been placing prayerful hands onto this young man and lifting him up to God! He was coming to church to be in the House of Lord. Jesus’ arms are wide open for him to come running home to him, yet this church pushed him away. This is not what I believe Jesus would want from you, church! This is a place that should be safe and comfortable for him, yet this church failed at doing so! I’m beyond disappointed. I’m praying for this church, the members and any future visitors.

Disclaimer: I'm a member of the Church of the Highlands, although I regularly attend another campus.

If you're considering attending a Church of the Highlands service, let me encourage you to do so. I've heard others say that it is a cult. I never know how to respond to that. If spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and loving others as we love ourselves, well then, I guess Highlands is a cult. In closing, Highlands is non-denominational and the membership is multi-raciall.

Great church, great music, good preaching from different pastors including Chris Hodges. Something always going on from; serving at church on Sunday, 1st Saturday every month, to popcorn and cokes on the Lawn in Summer along with kid camp. Church helps you find your gifts and choose ways you can use them. Spends millions of dollars helping families during the Christmas season, really all year. The church says spend a year with us, I did that and I am now in my 4th year. I was one of those folks that thought Highlands was different, those folks. They are, we start everything with prayer, and lift Jesus in joyful worship. I was in a cult per serving in college, this is not, just ramblings from the devil again!!!

I LOVE the Highlands!! I got up at 3 am to be at this church to meet P.C. for this past 21 days of Prayer. That was dedication! I did not get to meet him. But I got to see what I like to call "THE MOTHERSHIP!"

If you’re looking for a church or -even better- some connections with people than CoftH is imo the best pick. It’s a mega church but with all the small groups (and they have many to choose from) it feels like being home. The doctrine and the teaching is sound, bible based and not complicated. The worship is amazing and I have seen a lot of churches but this is the best experience you can have; you experiences God Himself (no words needed no more)
There is a main campus (Grants Mill) but they have over 20 different locations across the state of Alabama and a few in the state of Georgia.

I’m proud to call Church of the Highlands my home. This is a large non denominational church with a small church feel. It has a great diverse, friendly and compassionate congregation and staff. Grants Mill on Highland Way is the main ‘campus’ where you can see Pastor Chris Hodges himself. The many other locations are on a tv, so everyone hears the same service all over Alabama and even in correctional facilities.
This is day 18 of 21 Days of Prayer and the pictures are from this morning. After sacrificing and praying an hour a day for 21 days, small groups start. I would strongly encourage you to try one out. Freedom is my favorite and lead me closer to God and helped me find my Church Home.

I love church of the highlands! This is a local church planted by the senior pastor, Chris Hodges. This is a church with a heartbeat for the local and global community. Giving away resources to help with local and global needs. This church has multiple campuses across the state of Alabama.
