First time Customer and a hopeless Weekend Warrior here.

This place has some the friendliest, welcoming team and ownership. My job was a simple broken weld on a gate latch. Gerard fixed it instantly and his craftsmanship on this part will exist until long after we are all gone.

Total time spent at their shop: 5 minutes

Cost: basically free

I can't wait until I have something more complex and elaborate to build to really see their skills. Thanks for the solid work guys and 5 star Customer Service!

I do a lot of handiwork myself, but when I had a steel beam to cut, my choice was to buy an angle cutter and go at it myself, or find a professional.

I called a bunch of shops in the peninsula and most told me how difficult it is to cut. One shop quoted me $187.50. I really wanted to ask them how they came up with that number (especially the 50 cents!).

As luck would have it, I left a message with Custom Metal Manufacturing and Ed called me back two hours later. I described the 1.5" x 2.5" hollow rectangular beam, which he accurately called a tube. When he heard it was just a straight cut, he said to bring it by and he'll throw it on the machine and cut it for me for free.

I was a bit shocked by this man's honest and giving nature. When I went there today, he asked me how much needed to be cut off. Five minutes later, I'm walking out with a freshly cut, deburred beam. I left him $15 which he put in the tip jar (for his team?). I am truly impressed that there are still such professional people these days.

You could tell that he thoroughly enjoys what he does, and is not out to rip anyone off. Any job that's related to metal, welding, cutting, etc., I suggest you call Ed. One of the last honest business people in the world!

Girard did a great job welding cracks in my vehicle frame. Very nice to work with and very reasonable. I'll definitely go back to the shop in the future and would recommend them for any welding needs.

At Custom Metal they get your job done exactly as asked. Usually before the scheduled finish time. The prices are fair and I've never felt ripped off. I think they can weld just about anything made of metal. The guys there are friendly, helpful and might even invite you to have lunch with them if your timing is right. I will continue to go there for all my welding needs and recommend them to all my friends.
