My friend Tatiana bought a home in DeKalb County—poor girl thought she was buyin’ into a neighborhood, not a shipwreck. The water department here is more useless than a screen door on a submarine, a flashlight with no batteries, and a pogo stick in a minefield combined. Call ‘em for help and you’ll get more action outta a scarecrow at a strip club. Pipes leakin’, streets floodin’, and they still got the nerve to send out bills like they runnin’ Fiji. DeKalb County Watershed ain’t a utility—it’s a punchline with a logo. Y’all couldn’t fix a drip with a wrench and the Lord Himself on the line.

Toilet Retrofit Rebate Program is a scam. There is a crazy lady in the office who thought 5 months waiting to get your money was okay then sent back the form without processing because one line was put in wrong. Took down the phone number so no one can call.

Day 4 with no water and a 2 year old child lives in this home. I moved out here from Massachusetts; meaning I had absolutely no idea what places to contact for each service. I got assistance from a company setting up my utilities and they accidentally submitted a start service with the City of Atlanta, instead of Dekalb County. Unfortunately, I found out when my water was abruptly shut off, with no notice. I reached out and asked what needed to be done and I was told that as long as I submitted my application before 5pm that day, my services would be reinstated. I submitted my documents within 30 mins, at exactly 2:11pm. Here we are 4 days later and still nothing. I’ve called countless times and have gotten no help from customer service, just a lot of “I don’t know ma’am”. I understand other people need services as well but I have a toddler in my home and no water for 4 days is a safety hazard at this point. Not to mention it’s now a Friday and I was told they don’t work on the weekend. Monday is a holiday, meaning I could be looking at 7 WHOLE days without water for me and my child. I wish I could give it ZERO stars. Customer service could care less when I’ve expressed this concern to them. I really hope no other families have to go through this.

This department is worst ever, even when you're diligently paying your bills, they still find a way to cheat you. I've never seen anything like this, if there's a Zero rating, that's what they'll get.
Recently, my bank had a problem with their bill pay and apparently the bill a had scheduled was returned which was not my fault because when I logged into my DeKalb water bill account, it showed that it was paid, they charged me $30 for that
. Now, they blocked me from ACH payments and want me to pay with credit card so they can charge me a fee, seriously?

Dekalb county watershed is the most DIFFICULT company to deal with. I received an $800 water bill and I called to have someone out to look at the meter. It took over FOUR months of me calling every other week for them to finally come out and check it. All of these calls I had been on hold for well over 30 minutes and received little to no help along with a ton of attitude. By this point I had already paid a plumber to check for a leak on my end and they found no leak other than potentially a leaky toilet. I then replaced my toilet and dekalb had still not checked my meter. Finally I got a notice they checked it and I was told they would call with results. They never did so I called them again. I was on with them for 35 minutes when I was automatically hung up. I would sooner have them shut off my water than ever have to deal with them again.

Moved here from out of state, on the day we move in, Dekalb county cut our water off, on a Friday afternoon. No running water for an entire weekend, great first impression of Dekalb County guys and gals. Reached out to a manager, and was told everyone in that department works from home, nothing they can/will do to help. There’s no way for someone in the department who answers the phone to speak with the techs in the field. Great service so far ☹️. so far I’m impressed with the level of competence and customer service. If only Gov monopolies like this could be broken up, so that customer experience is improved by the better performing company in a related field.

My water was turned off with no notice due to a clerical error. I called in to address the issue and was greeted with a less than knowledgeable service rep who couldn't explain to me the proper steps to get this resolved. That being said, I went to the office in person and the rep was able to resolve the issue. She told me it could be up to 5 days before my water was restored which is a huge inconvenience for any family. The water was turned back on within 24 hours of my visit so I cant be upset. Yes, they messed up. However, they resolved it in a respectful and timely manner. I read all of the horror stories associated with this group and I was truly worried it would be weeks before we got our water back. 4 stars-it would have been a 5 except for the service rep having no clue as to why my account was made inactive.

This is my first time dealing with this company. I moved into a rental in Dekalb county...So I had no say-so in how my utilities were managed. I received a ridiculously large bill after moving in. I talked to 3 different people and have not been able to get a clear answer or breakdown of the charges. I have never had a sewer bill this high. They are definitely price gouging, especially if you refuse to provide a usage breakdown. You're just pulling numbers out of your behind and forcing us to pay the bills.

Consider living in an area where you will not have to deal with this company!
