Film photography is gaining popularity again, and Dunwoody Photo is at the heart of this resurgence.
Dunwoody Photo develops all kinds of film from E6 slides, C 41 color film, B&W to the newest craze-Movie Film stock ECN-2. Prints to scans, Dunwoody Photo gets it right every time.
Being a small shop that only sends out the movie film stock to Kodak, don’t expect the one hour photo of yesteryear. They do all the work in house and are very meticulous in their craft.
The shop is in the heart of Dunwoody in the Shops of Dunwoody shopping center.
Easy access, and plenty of parking.
Jacob and George are experts in photo processing and are eager to help.
Film continues to be a beloved form of Photography. Dunwoody Photo ensures that film photography will remain a dependable and authentic medium that can reveal your true creativity.
Highly recommended

WOW is all I can say for this photo restoration project. I brought in a severely damaged 50+ year old photo that was in a shattered frame that was stuck to the image. This was a photo of my great-grandmother’s restaurant and boarding house that was destroyed in the late 90s by a flood. Dunwoody Photo did a fantastic job restoring this image and also provided a digital image that I can share with my family. This is the only photo we have left so you have no idea what this means to us - thank you!!!

I’ve had about 10 rolls of Porta 160 developed here from my Contax T2. Only one time have they been behind schedule and it was during the holiday season so it was understandable. Super impressed with the developing here, the post pressing they do has always been dead on for me. I’m going to be leaving Atlanta soon but I’m debating on mailing my film here just because I think they do an exceptional job. Attaching some film photos they developed (I did not edit these at all - straight from Dunwoody Photo). I don’t leave reviews on Google much any more but felt it was necessary here - I am super happy with them!

I'm torn. This is the second time I've picked up an order at Dunwoody Photo, and both times there was an issue with my prints that required a reprint. While I appreciate the discount offered each time, I'm puzzled as to why these issues aren't caught during the initial printing process.

I'm happy with the prints, but I'm confused as to why these issues aren't caught during printing, leading to reprints both times. Having to leave and come back is a bit perplexing, so I'm curious about what's going on operationally, lol.

2025 Update:
Changing my rating from 3 stars to 2 because the latest batch of prints my wife and I received were overexposed. I don't mean to be rude but comparing Dunwoody Photos prints with the Walgreens prints we received recently; the contrast, white-balance, and saturation are all off. Can't say I'll be back but best of luck to them

This is my first time using Dunwoody Photo. I was so excited to find a photo lab in town that could scan film that I had from college. I also wanted to get back into film photography so I was excited that they can also develop film for future projects. I came in the week before the 4th of July to drop off my negatives to have some negatives I had already developed, scanned in and have it digitally. The gentleman up front told me that it wouldn’t be ready until the week after the 4th because they were going to be close. I totally understood that. Well, the week after came and went, nothing from them. I let another week go by because I figured maybe they got behind, which they did. So a little past two weeks after they said it would be ready, I gave them a call to see if there was any update on where they were at in the process. They had me on hold for a while (red flag) I guess looking for my order… the woman on the phone got back on and she said she can get it done later that day or the next day. I told her okay no worries I get you guys are behind. I didn’t get the scans until three days later after when she said they would be done. (Another red flag) No biggy, right? Nah. I came in today to pick up my negatives after paying for the scans. They lost my negatives….when I tell you how mad I was that they lost my negatives, I’m surprised I kept my cool. The blonde lady up front was telling me she was sorry but her tone was dry and like she couldn’t care less. She took down my info in case they find the negatives but she tried to imply I said to discard the negatives. First of all, no one ever asked me if I wanted to discard the negatives. Secondly, why would you ever discard negatives right away? That’s the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Maybe because I’m passionate about my photos and like to keep everything…it just doesn’t make sense to just throw out someone’s hard work like that right away. I get their 90 day policy, but three days later? Y’all need to change that because it looks like your employees are getting trash happy. As a first time customer and professional photographer, this really upset me that this was my first experience with this business. There was no sympathy, just a bunch of excuses that they were slammed and “panicking” in the back. No compensation or even a discount for future projects to try and save themselves. They are so unorganized that it affects their customers. I highly recommend that they put together a better plan if they’re going to close for a week and come back to an overload of work. If you want anything from them, I guess don’t drop off the week before a holiday because clearly they cannot handle the workload and will lose your stuff. I can’t say enough how upset I am about losing those negatives because I wanted to get those scanned for years and that’s my art you threw out like it was nothing! I hope I can find another photo lab that can develop film because I really do not trust these people at all with any future projects. Besides all the negative things, the scans came out nicely.

Update: So they found my negatives. Apparently they have a separate pile for pre-developed film, which I didn’t know was a thing to mention.. I’m glad they found it and called me immediately but I still have my concerns about using them in the future. I will definitely give them a second chance because things happen, but I stand by my earlier review that they need to be more organized about things, especially if they’re closing up shop for a week.

I asked Dunwoody Photo to enlarge and print a photo for my mother's memorial service. Every employee who helped me went above and beyond. They were all so patient and helped me achieve a beautiful photo for the service. They even took the time to clean the frame and center the photo for me once it was printed. This family owned business is incredible and I am nothing but grateful for their kindness and attention to detail. We will be back.

Recently found Dunwoody Photos and am very happy with their service! It's clear it's a Mom and Pop style place, not some huge corporation and they take pride in getting prints back in top quality. I would recommend them!

I use Dunwoody Photo from time to time to develop negative film. Sometimes it turns out ok, but way too often the film comes back extremely dirty, covered with extremely large amount of dust. For large batches I usually use out of state mailing service. I will have to start mailing out smaller batches as well, since Dunwoody Photo just doesn't have consistent quality service.
