I recently had the unfortunate experience of trying a burger at Fire Rock Burgers and Brew, and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster. This wasn’t just a bad burger—it was a culinary crime scene that left me questioning how this establishment even stays in business.

First off, let’s talk about the patty. It was so undercooked that it looked like it had barely been kissed by the grill. The meat was a raw, pink mess, practically mooing at me from the plate. I get that some people like their burgers rare, but this was beyond that—it was borderline unsafe to eat. The texture was mushy, almost shredded, like it had been sitting out too long before being slapped together. I’m honestly shocked they had the nerve to serve this to a paying customer.

The toppings were no better. The lettuce was wilted and slimy, as if it had been pulled from the bottom of a forgotten fridge drawer. The tomato slice was sad and mealy, adding nothing but a soggy mess to the already dismal experience. There was some mustard smeared on the bun, but it was uneven and barely noticeable in the chaos of this trainwreck. Speaking of the bun, it was dry and crumbly, falling apart with every bite, as if it had been sitting out for days. It couldn’t even hold the burger together, which, given the state of the patty, might have been a mercy.

The condiments on the side didn’t help either. A pitiful packet of Heinz ketchup was thrown onto the plate, already half-used and leaking, making the whole presentation look like a toddler’s art project gone wrong. The plate itself was a mess, with ketchup and mustard smeared everywhere, as if they didn’t even bother to clean up before serving it.

I don’t know what Fire Rock Burgers and Brew is thinking, but this burger was an abomination. It’s clear there’s no care or quality control in their kitchen. If you value your stomach—and your dignity—steer clear of this place. I wouldn’t feed this burger to my worst enemy. Zero stars, if I could give less, I would.

We had an awesome experience at Fire Rock Burgers & Brews! Ricky was our server and the guy was busting his ass, seriously hustling with a packed house and still made sure we were well taken care of. Props to him!

We kicked things off with the avocado & cream cheese eggrolls (so good!) and the pretzel bites both hit the spot. The Sweating Bullets burger brought the heat in the best way, and our son devoured his chicken nuggets and mac n cheese without a word always a good sign!

The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the music playlist was on point. Great food, great service, and a killer vibe. We’ll definitely be back. Rock on, Fire Rock! 🤘

My partner and I went here after hearing and reading all of the fantastic reviews from this place - and we couldn’t have left more disappointed. Understandably they were incredibly busy for a Friday night, so we opted for bar seating for hopefully faster service. Unfortunately because of how busy it was, there were piles upon piles of dirty dishes and left overs just surrounding us as we waited for our food. We were happy to receive our food relatively quick - but was met with disappointment again when we found the fries to be ice cold upon the second they arrived, as well as room temperature chicken sandwich and lack luster burger. The jalapeƱo wontons would have been great if hot, but unfortunately was not. I could tell the wait staff was really in over their head, trying to manage just how busy they were, but the food was not worth the price and we could not leave fast enough.

1/5 Stars – Cold Buns and Loose Screws! (Literally)

I rarely write long reviews, but the fact that this restaurant has a high rating here and that made me choose it, forces me to try to warn others by communicating our terrible experience. From literal hardware in our food to indifferent service and constant mistakes, this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The sad thing is that the place actually has potential.

1. A Screw in Our Food (Yes, Really)
The "carne asada fries" came with an unwelcome surprise—a 3/4-inch screw buried in them. When we pointed it out, the waitress barely apologized, casually explaining it "probably came loose from the tomato slicer." She only offered to replace the dish or remove it from the bill, but there was no real concern that we had a literal piece of metal in our food, a kid or a child could have easily choked. She just kind of shrug and had an attitude of "Oops, whatever."

2. Cold, Sloppy Burgers & Terrible Service
Every single one of our five burgers had cold, stale buns. When one person asked for theirs to be reheated, the waiter responded rudely, saying they’d have to microwave it—as if that was our problem. No offer to fix it properly, just defiance and laziness.

3. Repeated Order Mistakes (Even After the Kitchen Closed!)
Finally, they completely butchered our wing orders — multiple times. We ordered **bone-in wings with buffalo sauce and later ordered boneless wings with half buffalo and half lemon pepper. First, they brought boneless wings with full buffalo sauce. Then, while they were shutting down the kitchen, we reminded them that they had forgotten the bone-in wings, so we literally repeated them that they were BUFFALO bone-in wings. When they finally brought them out, the sauces were from the boneless order (half and half), wrong again. They mixed up both orders and didn’t even have a clue.

Final Thoughts
Between the screw in the food, cold burgers, rude staff, and constant mistakes, this place is a complete mess. Save your money, there are way better options where the food won’t come with metal hazards and the staff actually cares.

You must visit the Fire Rock brewing company when you go to Big Bear. But please don’t go when I am up there, because the lines can get quite long, and I don’t wanna spill the secret of this beautiful gem of a brewery.

I say try their brussels sprouts and Poke nachos to pair with a beer flight of four of your choice brews. You will be in for a good time if you sit on the patio. Outside there’s a fire pit, and lots to see.

One of the best burgers I've ever had. I ordered the Eye if the Tiger and it was incredibly good, the beer that was suggested was also perfect and I ordered the onion rings that were also out of this world. Very pleased. My wife's salad was great, she loved it too. Service was a little slow because it was busy but the food compensated by far.

1st time visiting Big Bear, picked this spot since it was close along with several other restaurants. The patio was pretty empty the inside was crowded, so I went to look for the server. Both her and the other server were very nice and attentive to our table. My Uncle loved his burger that had Philly Cheesesteak on top. It was very filling for him and he said it was really good. I had a chicken sandwich that wasn't the best tasting, but everyone else enjoyed their food. My cousin had a burger and my friend had a chicken salad.
