Stay Far Away from G&M Meat Processing!

G&M Meat Processing is hands down the most unprofessional business I’ve dealt with in a long time. First off, they butcher out of the backyard of a house. But it gets better. They “ran out of vacuum seal bags.” The solution? None. Apparently, going to buy more bags was too much effort.

They quoted me $1.25/lb for 625 hanging pounds from an 1200-1300 lbs bison cow.. It was approx 10 feet long skinned and hanging. Could I verify that? Of course not! Communicating with them was like trying to call a black hole

Then messed up several cuts giving me 5 lbs briskets and 1.5 Tri tips. The briskets should have been 13-20 lbs and the Tri tips should have been 2.5-3 lbs. I was also supposed to received the skull for an European mount but didn’t.

Then, the bill magically transformed into $1,030 with $225 in mysterious, undisclosed fees. Oh, and the meat? I was told I’d get close to 370 pounds and ended up with only 350 lbs.

And the timeline? They said they’d hang the animal for five days. Cool. Ten days later, still hanging, no call, no update. Then at this time, they claimed it would take 3-4 days to process and deliver. Two weeks later, I finally got my meat. And when I dared to ask what was going on, Roya, the owner, hit me with the customer service gem of the year: “I don’t care” and “Oh well!” To address our concerns.

The cherry on this disaster sundae? They only accept cash and personal checks. Of course, they conveniently failed to mention that upfront.

I tried calling them before the ranch handed over my buffalo—five or six times, to be exact—but their phone must be for decoration because nobody ever answered or called me back. Once they had my animal, they pulled these stunts and turned this into the most frustrating and ridiculous experience possible.

Do yourself a favor and avoid G&M Meat Processing. Unless you enjoy being overcharged, ignored, and treated like your concerns don’t matter, I will NEVER use them again!

This was the first time I used this processor on the recommendation of a family member. All I can say is I couldn’t have been happier with the results. Very quick turn around time, packaging was great and labeled very well, and I received back exactly what I was expecting. I have tried out several butchers in the northern Nevada area and this was by far the best experience I’ve had. Thank you!
