Electric is great, but the Trailwave experience with their “customer service”has been an absolute nightmare.

Apparently, people who don’t own your property and are not on the Bill can just call up and make arrangements for your service and property and they’ll even send guys to move and dig your line w/o even talking to the homeowner.
Absolutely insane.
Thank goodness I can get another internet service.

I've never been able to get a human on the phone. Their customer service is horrible. Also, every time there's a small weather event, thousands of people here lose power. It's like clock work. Last night we had rain and wind...gusting 25. Today, I've been without power for 16 hours, along with 4000 others in the area. 4k without power...from a little rain storm. It's also some of the most expensive power in the state, even though it goes out every time a bird farts.

At this point I can't complain. When Helene rolled through last night, our power was back on within an hour and stayed on for the duration of the storm. Trailwave is also, for the most part, fast as hell.

If at all possible use someone else as your power provider. Their customer service and outage map are horrible. If your power goes out a crew might fix it in 4 hours or 4 days, you never know. If you call to get further info on your power outage you will get zero actual help. They'll just say they don't know, the crews are out there somewhere, like no one has a fricking clue over there. I miss have Georgia Power, they were so much better and responsive. They can tell you were in line and a true ETA when your power go down and stick to that ETA. HEMC has trash service, avoid at all costs if possible.

I've had HEMC power service for many many years now and I rarely have any problems. When inclement weather comes, their crews are always on site quickly to repair and restore the lights. If I need my bill explained they have friendly and polite customer service reps that will help me. They offer solar power and prepaid service among many other innovations. I will always speak highly about their service and am thankful to be part of their membership.

The linemen are wonderful! No complaints about trailwave. But huge complaints on the customer service, everyone I have ever spoken to is downright wretched. My bills are higher than when I was with Georgia power- in a house that is double the size of the one I am in now. I wish I had another choice, it's unfortunate (should be unlawful) that power companies are allowed to operate as a monopoly.
