This is like no other service that I know of. It is forced on residents under penalty of law if you don’t pay them. They raise the rates at their own discretion with no recourse to dispose of your garbage otherwise unless their board allows you to escape. These rates allow them to buy the most expensive mechanical operating trucks (See photo) that do not require them to even get out of the vehicle but destroy the expensive containers that they supply for our garbage. This causes the rates to continue to go up, as is already planned in every coming year. See my photos of the condition of the, as left, garbage cans on my small street. They are destroyed by the rough handling of these trucks and left as the trucks dump them for us to pick up. Many of these have already been replaced many times. Who pays for these containers and these very expensive trucks? You and I pay for all of it and the salaries of the unsympathetic employees (try calling them) with their dictated rates.
I learned about the system I’m describing by calling the office before their 2:30 pm closing time. I called because I tried to get some relief by paying the annual rate instead of the monthly rate but got a bill before the end of the year anyway. They pointed out that I didn’t call them, as was stipulated in the small print, to asked to be put on the annual plan so I was charged at the monthly rate until my annual payment amount ran out. I was told by the representative that they have thousands of checks come in every month and can’t be expected to know that someone wants the annual plan just because they send in the annual amount of payment.
Does this sound like something that would be happening in this free Country that we call America? I thought we became a free Country because we rebelled against taxation without representation!
If you think this is bad, it gets worse. I have a relative who has spent his life acquiring rental properties in Jackson County. He has been informed by the sanitation department that if his tenants don’t pay their garage bills then he will be held accountable.
What is enough of this treatment and what can be done by mere Citizens ... or should I say Subjects?, of a corrupt system?

You need to fix your hours. We came down to get garbage service at 12:30p.m. and then again at 1:55p.m.. on Friday Oct 13, 2023. Gates locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Your hours show you don't close till 2:30p.m.. When we called the number, no one answered either. Fix this if you're not going to be open like your website says. Gas ain't cheap.

Talking through the people in the billing office through the window is like trying to pull teeth on a rabid dog. The women were discourteous and when I asked to speak to their supervisor, the pajama boy who walked up to the window showed no signs of concern that he might actually deal with the complaint I had.

Teach your people some customer service skills you schmucks. It's not like you were swamped with work. The 3 of you were sitting back shooting the breeze when I walked in and you acted like it was an inconvenience to get up off your lazy butts and answer a couple questions. It's not like you are a waste management service in a major metropolitan area.

Jackson County Sanitation is a joke. They act like the Rural cousins of the Italian MOB, and you would be hard pressed to find a more unfriendly and dismissive bunch than they are. They offer the bare minimum for services and charge the maximum, and they will treat you like you have insulted them for asking for basic srivices, ei. Bulk Trash pickup extra cans options for dumpsters and scheduling for extra pickups during the holidays. If you miss payment they will send you a letters warning you of a warrant issued for failure to pay like you dont even get a court date. If you don't mind fear mongering, intimidation, or lazy entilted arrogant people using the court system to back them in their Monopoly then you're good to go, and thats exactly what its is a Monopoly.

Truck needs to be fixed leaking liquids that stink very bad. I have dogs and I can't wash them every week. Need to get truck fixed so dogs want get in the nasty liquid coming from truck.
Oh,and mainly have of our teach is taken out of our can.

Their trucks broke off part of my drive way. I called and reported the incident. They never came by to look at the damage, just called me and refused to take responsibility.
