Great experience here in a very updated green screen studio using unreal engine. Nice staff, well appointed. Small led lighting package with fillix and titans available. No cam lock or distro that I could see. Decent pre-light groups of fluorescents (I think they were flouros, I didn't recognize the fixtures but they worked just fine) on a board on a grid; lights for green cyc, back/hair lights, side wraps and some 1k fresnels for keys already in the grid. Some ground/floor lighting for the green screen. I supplemented and added my own key and fill on the ground but had to keep it minimal and controlled to stay off the green and away from the jib, space was a bit limited on camera side but we definately made it work well. Load in through a large roll-up door but must pass through hallway and a few small spaces to get to the actual stage. Very nice live monitoring of stage via large led wall and several monitors throughout the various green rooms, hmu rooms etc. Good tech, good stage.

The future of film and television production is at this place...an amazing set of ultra-high-tech tools that saved our production (literally) a million dollars in one week. Great facilities, skilled technicians, very helpful scheduling, and truly involved management. Can't say enough good things...so will stop now.

LA Castle Studios was a dream come true for our shoot. We came because we needed a high-level airport setting, and they delivered that – beautifully composited - in a way we could not have gotten on our budget at ANY of the local “airport sets” in LA. But then, we had a second mandate, which was shooting a car driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. We drove a car right into their studio and spent two days getting every possible angle PERFECTLY. Composited with driving plates. Not to mention, because of the ease of the working environment, and Brett’s skill with the green screen, we added a fantasy sequence that we shot in two hours! But this isn’t simply a “green screen” studio (we actually called it GREEN-LAND because of it infinite possibilities) it is the BEST working environment imaginable. Makeup rooms, dressing rooms, green rooms – every one gorgeous and so clean and well appointed – our actors felt like STARS. And that’s just the facility. The PEOPLE who run LA Castle Studios? Top even the excellent facility. The Pipher family (it’s a family-run business and the Pipher’s run it oh-so-well) were BEYOND accommodating. That studio was OURS from the moment we loaded in. The only question they ever asked is “how can we be more helpful?” I have been making movies in LA for 30 years and this is the BEST experience I’ve EVER had. I cannot recommend this place or these people more highly. You truly need to try it to believe it. But it is DEFINITELY true. LA Castle Studios is THE BEST!
