Great hike for a cruise excursion! The whole family enjoyed it, pretty easy for any regular hiker but considered "strenuous" for cruisers, I guess it all depends on the weather. We got all the way up onto the glacier and into a waterfall that happened to have a giant rock stuck in it. Just perfect timing!

If you want to spend time on the ice and glacier, you need to take the early train and the latest train back. We made it all the way to the ice and only had minutes to explore before we had to run most the trail back to get back for the 10:50 train. 2 hours is not enough time to truly explore all the glacier. Gorgeous hike!

Beautiful stop. So many wildflowers!

We booked directly with the White Pass train to be able to get off the train, hike around as a family, and catch a later train back.

The combination train + Laughton Glacier hike is the best bang for the buck in all of Skagway. Where else can you literally walk right on to a glacier? *Trailhead only accessible by White Pass Yukon Route RR or helicopter*

One of my favorite hikes in Skagway near skagway. You have to take the train 14 miles to the trailhead and it's a short 3 miles to the glacier with 6½ hours before the train well be back to pick you up.

My first time visiting Alaska! I now see why my family loves living here so much. The beauty is overwhelming. Coming from Connecticut where smog can set in at times and noise pollution is real, it was refreshing to have such solitude. I cannot wait to come back.

The train ride is cool (although there's an option to take a helicopter), and the hike is pretty easy and short. Once you get to the glacier, there's a lot to see and explore. Most exciting glacier I've been on for sure
