We tried North Georgia Meat Company after receiving what was presented as a bulk rate for a 50-pound monthly order. The quality of the product itself was solid, and we were hopeful about establishing an ongoing relationship with a local supplier.

Unfortunately, after just one order, the pricing structure was changed without notice or explanation—despite the initial quote being tied to ongoing monthly purchases. Only after we reached out to reorder did we learn that the original price was supposedly due to a temporary inventory surplus, something that had never been communicated to us.

We understand that prices fluctuate with market conditions, but clear communication is key—especially when someone is trying to build a recurring sourcing relationship. The quick pivot from a long-term bulk rate to full retail pricing felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a bait-and-switch.

This isn’t a review of their meat quality—it’s a friendly caution to others who may be approaching this business in good faith, expecting transparency and consistency. Always get clarity in writing up front if you’re considering ongoing orders.

Quality meats at reasonable prices. Just picked up monthly bulk 40lb fresh chicken specials today. They also carry Alaskan Salmon. Happy to have found this place.

We just discovered North Georgia Meat Company a few months ago! Now we make a trip to Ellijay every few weeks. Just a bit up Hwy. 515 from our home in Jasper makes it so convenient. We have never purchased anything that wasn't top quality and the service is always fantastic. We spent too much time at the apple house last Saturday and arrived close to closing time. The kind lady taking care of us was patient and didn't seem a bit annoyed by our late arrival.

DELICIOUS! If you are coming up to Blue Ridge and do not make a stop here and get some of their amazing meats you are doing yourself a disservice. I am so happy I reached out and made an order for steaks with Roy for my family that were all coming up from Florida to spend a long weekend in the mountains. We ordered steaks for everyone in our crew and then some and when we threw them on the fire with some salt and pepper, I have to say my tastebuds were happy! They were ready to go and packaged for us so it made pick up smooth and I even got to meet Roy in person! Everyone there was very kind and welcoming and we will definitely recommend to others and come back when we are in Blue Ridge. Thank you so much !!!

Fantastic selection and really amazing prices.

After shopping at the local mega-mart for almost a decade, North Georgia Meat Company has far superior product at a fraction of the price.

Very friendly and helpful. We have tried the bacon, sausage, (hot and mild) , smoked boneless chops, cubed steak, and ground beef. Best I have ever tasted anywhere. Have not tried steaks yet, but, will be back to do so as soon as possible. No more grey colored grocery store stuff that was shipped from who knows where or when. This is fantastic, highest quality, and prices are fine.

I go there all the time for my meat and pork and chicken and I was surprised that they also have seafood. Everything is so professionally done and the people are very very nice. It’s great that you can go to a place that is so pleasant and I feel that their product is better than the grocery store.
