Pulled into main yard. Called Guard shack, told to unstrap then call back. Guard comes out to tell me too go around the corner after already pulling straps. Throw straps again, go down to other location pull in and pull straps. Nobody here. Called Guard Shack was told their on their way. The forklift operator finally shows up. Won't get off his phone to unload me. Just sits in forklift talking, then he starts unloading a preload trailer. Finally comes over to me grabs my top 4 bundles signs my paperwork. Then takes off and starts moving other rebar around the yard. Before coming back to get the rest of my 20 bundles of rebar

I’m not sure what’s been going on lately but the wait times to get loaded are ridiculous.
On average I spend anywhere from 3-6 hours in line just to hit the scales.
Checked in and waited 3 hours today just to call the scale house to find out I had “gotten lost in the shuffle”, and then sat an additional two hours before hitting the scale, so I guess they were just going to continue to let me sit at the front of the line and call other trucks to go ahead of me.
I won’t be making it home to my family this weekend because of the time spent wasted here today.
I understand that we’re all human, that these things happen, and I do my best to be understanding and patient, but being the third truck in line and waiting 5+ hours to be loaded is a bit much.
Maybe there’s a good explanation for the wait times but no one bothers to tell you anything, and there doesn’t seem to be any appreciation or concern for drivers’ time or efforts.
Something seriously needs to fixed as far as shipping goes.
And it’s not just this location either, it’s every NuCor or subsidiary I’ve visited lately.
With freight prices being so low these days, we can’t afford to lose half of our day sitting in line, and no load is worth losing home time over.
Very disappointed with NuCor lately, and if I had it my way, I wouldn’t be hauling their freight anymore.

My husband has delivered to this location for nearly two years but I recently started training with him to get my CDL so I have visited this location 5-6 times now.
—The workers here are very professional, easy to talk with and are generally pretty pleasant to deal with.
—In the trucking industry you don’t make money if you aren’t moving so it’s great that it doesn’t take very long to get loaded here. I’ve only been there 5-6 times but we spent less than one hour each time to get loaded. Disclaimer: my husband has said that on rare occasions the wait can take 3hrs when they are backed up but I have yet to experience that
—Again, I am training to get my CDL so I stopped by last week while with my husband and since we had a short delivery (BHM-Mont) I took my 8month old son and the Supervisor, Dustin, saw him in our truck and came over to play with him as we were getting loaded. Dustin gave him some Nucor swag: a cute little t-shirt and Nucor sticker. I thought that was nice and shows how pleasant the workers are. *I included his pic with his Nucor shirt below.
—The bathrooms are clean and they even have a ladies room which is great since most manufacturers don’t. Just make sure you wear your hardhat and neon vest. Hope this review is helpful.

Without bashing them completely this problem starts with management. Being able to get loaded is a huge problem, obviously because of all the negative reviews that seem to fall on deaf ears, for places like this its easier to pass the blame without fixing the problem. Worst place to load hands down if you can go elsewhere then you should. Until management fixes the problem it will continue to be this way.

Got here at 7:30 a.m. on 12-14-2018. I had 2 trucks in front of me when I got here. It is now 8:30 and they still haven't made progress with the 1st of the 2 trucks. Making the product as they go. Slow going process. Don't waist your time getting a load here.

Here lately its like us drivers get the load, get here and sit for hours. Seems like they are making it or something. Only 2 trucks in front of me and we been here for 3 hours. We must been sent here with an order # and the product isnt even made or ready or something. Its getting worse every week.drivers are even complaining about Nucor on Gerdau website.

To my fellow (ELOG DRIVER'S) take your 10 hours break before coming here. Or do a 8 and 2 split. Because you will be sitting here for hour's before getting loaded, and don't be in a hurry. These people or not in a hurry to load any driver. I have been sitting for 6 hours to get loaded. You been warn.
