Horrible experience with Piedmont Fayetteville Emergency Room. Went in with severe abdominal pain and bloating and high blood pressure. Waited several hours to be seen by a PA who never did a physical exam on me. He did order a CT scan and after several hours of waiting finally had it done. After 6 1/2 hours of waiting, I asked to leave. No doctor ever gave me the CT report results or saw me. They made me sign a document saying I was leaving AMA (against medical advice) which I did. While there, 2 people waiting in the ER with me had strokes. Over 100 people were in the waiting room. Absolutely atrocious care- felt like a third world country! The only good thing about my visit and why I gave one star instead of zero is because the CT tech, Wayne Nelson, was extremely kind and compassionate as he performed my test. This hospital needs to either hire more ER staff or or revamp their program. There's no reason very ill people should have to wait that long to be evaluated, seen, and treated.

So my first time here as a family member waiting with the patient wasn't a good experience (came at night). Waited forever for my wife to be seen and reseen. There were people all over the place coughing and otherwise.

Back here again for myself (around noon) and, so far, it is a much better experience.

Took my husband in on Sunday and he had an abscess drained. The hospital was filthy!! Doctor had absolutely no bedside manner. Less than 12 hours later my husband was in excruciating pain at the site of his abscess, it was full of blood and so very painful for him. We returned to the ER as per discharge paperwork. They took his vitals and his blood pressure and heart rate were thru the roof. When I said something about it the man doing triage said “ oh we have seen higher” . After waiting over 3 hours thru shift change we were told that the hospital was full and wait time to see a doctor was 10 hour. Watched a group of about 5 nurses hang out and chat for the last 40 minutes of their shift. Asked for gauze pads because the incision site was oozing and the nurse was so put out by having to do something. Had heard the same nurse 30 minutes before complaining that she was asked to clean a dirty room and she didn’t want to. No wonder no patients can get called out of the waiting room no one is cleaning the rooms to get turned over.

Wow this is a difficult review to write. This emergency department was horrible. There was no sense of urgency at all. We waited for hours and hours to be seen by a doctor. The waiting room is hideous and cramped. Definitely not enough workers and surely short staffed. I watched several people up and leave while others with more serious ailments were just left there. One lady fell on the floor and the sense of urgency of the staff was delayed and horrific. Another elderly lady got stuck in the bathroom and was yelling for help and NO ONE came to help her. I'm only giving two stars for the triage nurses. They were the only friendly staff members that I encountered.. I highly DON'T RECOMMEND this emergency room. You will wait and you won't get the help that you need. Try Piedmont Atlanta Hospital or Wellstar instead!

I was at the ER for Abdomen pain I was seen and had a CT I was diagnosed with an old diagnose that was already taken care of he didn’t find a solution to my problem at all. He was so focus on my previous surgery instead of finding out what’s wrong .

Still sitting here after almost 5 hours. The staff has no estimate when. I will be see. They come around every 2 hours wanting do vitals while you just sit and wait. The er must bill insurance every time they take your vital. 6 1/2 hours in. Almost 7 hours now.

Great hospital. Really just depends on what day you go and who is working. I know sometimes they are short Staffed and are working as fast as they can while trying to meet everyone's needs. The wait time can be extensive at times but that's to be expected at an ER, Just like watching cable TV, you know there's going to be commercials so why get upset when they come on?

I hope I never have to go to the ER again. And if I do, I'll never go to this one. Doctor with horrible bedside. Now I'm going to be stuck with a huge medical bill after being kicked out of the ER without the reasons that I was told to go in there for unaddressed. I left feeling just as bad and now I have a huge medical bill waiting for me. Never again.
