Probably one of the best products out there on the market! I grill on a weekly basis and I never have an issue with Royal Oak charcoal or Royal Oak lump! I guess it just takes a little common sense to know how to light charcoal from Reading past comments. Maybe watch a YouTube video or something like that. But if you're looking for quality product , then Royal Oak is definitely the way to go!

First and foremost, the striker on the side of the box sucks!!! You have to strike the match free, four even five times to get it to light.
Second and equally as important, many of the matches in the box are very thin and are prone to breaking once you try to strike them. Since they are so thin, you have to put two together before striking so they don't break.

'Greenlight' Strike Anywhere Matches are DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS!!! The tips frequently break off when striking the strike pad, and the flaming tip lands several feet away. Problem is, the 'wood for the product comes from responsibily managed FSC certified forests' is much weaker than the wood you use for 'Large Kitchen Matches'. Tips break off over half the times I use them.

Bought the briquettes and they don't burn. Could barely get the grill to 250. Do not buy unless you like wasting money. Kingsford is only like 2 bucks more and well worth it

I am a customer of your products, I have a complained about your coal, I buy 100 libras for week to use at my BBQ bussines and all the times that I open a bag, have big stones, big irons . This is not fair. I buy coal and not big stones and big pieces iron.

EDIT: 3rd bag in a row with rocks and nothing but dust that consisted of 1/4 the weight. Not sure if it's a transportation issue or quality control issue. Rocks are unacceptable.

Don't listen to the reviews of people who say it doesn't burn. They obviously do not know how to burn charcoal. This stuff burns quick and hot! Great for searing! It also has a very pleasant smoke flavor after cooking meats. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the last 2 bags I bought had way more rocks than usual in it. Since it sold by weight, I'm a bit frustrated in the quality control. (These weren't small rocks either) Even with that frustration, I recommend you try it. Use a chimney though. Never lighter fluid.

First time I purchased lump charcoal so I bought a name brand. OOPS. There was a crazy amount of small pieces compared to lumps. I had to use twice as much product as normal with briquets due to so much falls through the coal grate. I have tried to contact Royal Oak since last Friday 11/4/2022 and missed one phone call from them today and here it is 11/10. Six DAYS! Every time I call it goes to voice mail and then I get disconnected. Never again will I buy this product. If I could give it a negative 5 It would fit there product.
It is now 11/11 and still no contact. I called home office this morning and they said they they would have someone call me right away. I guess right away means a long wait. I give up.
