Suffering home damage is a nightmare we wish on no one. But finding a company you can trust to repair your home is almost as daunting. We got lucky with recommendations for Southeast Restoration.

Southeast Restoration has done a fantastic job with our home restoration. Our project manager, Ryan Mason, provided reassurance and peace of mind with his oversight of the project every step of the way. It’s hard to trust in the work of contractors these days but Ryan has proved that southeast restoration keeps their promises and, precedes their reputation with the work they provide.

He made sure to meet with us and understand what was important to us and how we wanted to move forward with each stage of the job. This allowed the project to continue to move forward smoothly even when we got busy at work. Setting up meetings with any sub contractors in advance and as a group if needed.

Ryan and southeast also have superb communication giving us a recap of where we are at with our project and what actions took place hat week by text.

We never had to worry about people randomly showing up at the house we didn’t expect and always knew to expect communication and updates when things outside of anyone’s control came up such as snow or hurricanes so we would know how that would effect our timeline. Not only would we recommend them to anyone who needs work, we are using them again ourselves to repair our new damages that Helene was generous enough to provide.

As a general note we have a 1965 home with unique arterial finishes and original pieces and they were very understanding and able to accommodate those needs for keeping the value of our vintage home.

South East Restoration trade partners handled our new fence, water heater, and shed base, and I’ve got to say—the whole experience was awesome. Even when we decided we wanted a change after everything was done, one of them came right back to make it happen. I really loved how they made it right for us. And when we had our new tankless water heater installed, there was a mix-up about who was supposed to clear away the installation debris. Instead of arguing about it, they just came out and hauled it all away. If you’re thinking about upgrading your home, I highly recommend checking out SRG. They use the best subcontractors in Augusta, and the warranties on all the work are the cherry on top!

Jesse, Jaryd, Jonathan, Joseph and the rest of the team were great. They were recommended by my insurance carrier and responded within the hour with a truckload of equipment and supplies. . Jesse kept me up to date on the progress. They left the space clean. I would have given a 5 star but they often left the lights on and left a window partially open. It’s a good thing it didn’t rain or any critters entered! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

After several months of looking for a roofing company, I almost gave up. SOUTHEASTERN came in, provided a cost estimate and got the process started. Within 3 weeks we had a new roof. Constant communication was great, they were always available to answer any questions. The folks working on the roof were super courteous and very accommodating. We did have a storm come through halfway through the project, they cleaned and secured everything before the storm and returned after the storm passed to finish the project. Clean up was thorough ensuring no nails or other debris was left behind. Can highly recommend their business.

We called Southeast in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene because a large tree had crashed through our roof and crushed a couple rooms of our house and damaged others. Although Southeast's team labored diligently to complete mitigation and cleaned up well, they made several major errors, especially in the billing process.

Southeast quoted the mitigation work at $9188.74, after we denied mitigation for two other rooms in our house that were not seriously damaged. They completed the work on the other rooms, and we received an invoice for $17,711.27. This bill contained $4555.11 for work never completed in the two rooms we rejected services. It also contained hundreds of dollars of extra charges for drying fans left in our home for extra days due to the Thanksgiving holiday and for moving items out of a room that my wife and I had moved. When I pointed out these errors, I never received a phone call or even an email acknowledgment. Instead, I received a new invoice from Southeast at $17,345.29. This invoice had removed the $4555.11 amount for the two rooms, added work and prices to other rooms, and ended with this amount, which was only about $400 less than the original invoice and still almost double the estimate. I finally received a call from an employee, who committed to resolve the situation over the weekend, but I did not hear from him again for weeks. Eventually, another Southeast employee moved the ball forward when he visited our home to complete an estimate for restoration work. I eventually met with several Southeast representatives in their office and received a third invoice, now for $15,489.07. Even this invoice contained one or two, small erroneous charges regarding the amount of plastic containment barrier sheeting used. The Southeast team asked me to allow them to work this out with insurance and promised that it would be rectified. Instead, I received an invoice for the same amount several weeks later after they spoke with insurance.

In the end, I simply gave up and agreed to pay the $15,489.07 after months of time spent reviewing invoices, talking and meeting with representatives, and promises from Southeast to fix the situation.

The team did great mitigation work, and I remain thankful for what the company did to help us mitigate water damage after the hurricane. There was serious damage, and they did a great job removing rubble and getting parts of the home ready for restoration. They deserve fair payment for the work they did. At the same time, they left us with a bill over $6000 above the agreed upon amount after a process filled with major billing and significant communication errors.
