I've been deer hunting for 50 years and have used just about ever processer 30 miles around Columbus. The first two times I used Southern Boys I was very satisfied. Unfortunately this year's experience with them was terrible. First, they failed to call me because they couldn't read their handwriting. Second, when I went to pick up the deer it took longer than it did to kill the deer, field dress it and take it to them, because they couldn't find some other hunter's deer meat. Finally, I got back far less meat than I should have received. (After 50 years I know better) The owner is an absentee manager and does not have enough help to make operations run smoothly, plus they don't have a good system for retrieving someone's meat that's been stacked up and hidden for weeks. While I was there I saw where someone dropped off a nice buck outside and it layed in the heat for an hour, and was still there when I drove off. No telling when the one person working there got to it.

This an update from my earlier review. For the first time ever, there was a lot of gristle and small bits of bone in my ground meat. Someone was in a hurry or didn't know what they were doing. Horrible job. Just because they use vacuum sealing doesn't equate with a good processing job, it just means your badly butchered meat is preserved a little longer.Needless to say, it's back to Daffins for me.

Southern Boys Processing is the best around by far! Everyone including Angie, Tim, Jesse, & the others are the absolute most professional and helpful in anyway they can. Dropping off meat is a breeze 24 hours a day in their walk in freezer and they also hang your meat before processing. We take them both hogs and deer and let me tell you they don’t disappoint! They process you your choice cuts of meat and delicious ground and it’s all vacuum sealed - their work is professional. I can’t say enough great things about this place and have referred all my hunt buddies in the area and will continue to. I’ve used several processors over the years, but now I only want to come here. Thank you Southern Boys for working so hard and being the great team that you are, we really appreciate you!

There’s a drop off cooler in back of building available 24 hours seven days a week.Call one of the numbers listed and one of our employees will come out gut and skin your deer or hog.
