I contracted with Spalding to replace my old asphalt driveway at least one and a half to two years ago. I told them I needed to make sure that it drained away from my house / garage to a specific drain point. When I saw them "eyeballing" the grade next to my garage I asked if they were going to use a transit or other grading tool and was told how much experience they had at this and there was no need to use any instrument. Sure enough after the first rain, the water is flooding into my garage because of their lack of proper grading. I tried for well over a year to have them talk to me about solving this drainage problem but they would never get back with me about it. I've called every few weeks during the past two years and although I spoke with them they never would do anything about my garage flooding problem. All I got was "we'll get back with you" and "we're working on it and I'll have Joe call you back". Well, Joe hasn't called back yet and I'm guessing he won't. If you decide to contract with Spalding Concrete and you have any particular concerns just make sure that you withhold final payment until you are completely sure the job is done right because they will not come back and make it right. Beware, they are not reliable when it comes to making sure the customer is satisfied with the finished job.

At first I was just looking to extend my current driveway for extra parking but the owner gave my a great offer to resurface my existing driveway for only a little bit more making everything look as one. It looks fantastic!

Honestly one of the biggest reasons I went with this company was because they were willing to communicate effectively through text message which made everything much easier for me and my busy schedule.

Even though I did have some issues they were resolved quickly and professionally all things considered which is why I’m still leaving this review at 5 stars

Spalding Concrete performed asphalt work at our residence. We paid them in full, but Spalding Concrete has not paid the asphalt company for the materials. Now the asphalt company’s attorney has placed a lean on our residence for the unpaid asphalt, and Spalding is not answering calls, emails, or text messages.

Workers showed up and did a seemingly good job paving and expanding my driveway however months after laying the pavement it cracked significantly. Getting the salesperson to respond to texts and phone calls became challenging…. Completely unresponsive! We sent photos and videos of the cracking and initially were told that they were very busy and would come out to look into the issues within 2 months but it’s been 6 months and no one has followed up with the promise to look into the cracks in the asphalt pavement. I judge the professionalism and the workmanship of a company based on how well they follow up AFTER the job is done. Don’t take my money and then ignore my concerns. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of response from this company.

This is not the company you want to do business with if you are looking for integrity. The owner had me get in touch with his brother in law for an estimate. He was busy and handed me off to a new and inexperienced salesman. The salesman seemed unsure of himself so I contacted the brother in law only to be told he was too busy and that I wanted the job or not. He also stated that they had plenty of business without my job. I then called the owner with my concerns. He was out of town and said he would call the next Wednesday and set up an appointment for him to come out to the job site. To my surprise he had the brother in law who did not have time for me to call I stead. What a bait and switch company.
