Worst costumer service I have received. They don't return your calls or email and when you do buy something it takes 3+hours to get your stuff that you PAID FOR! I will not be doing business with Ritchie Bros ever again. Plus their fees are very high. Save yourself a headache and money, buy in auctions that really care about their costumers.

First trailer: wrong name on the title by Ritchie bros.

Second trailer: Tax money received and everything
but didn’t transfer the title and sent us paperwork to do it ourselves.

Both times we had to go to the dmv multiple times because of their faults.

I lost $4300 there.

I bought an excavator.

I took the transportation company brochure from THEIR lobby.

I gave the transportation company $6000
After a month they told me that they couldn't deliver it to my property.

They only gave me back $5400

I paid $13k.
I left it there for the next auction.
I only got $10.5k.

I had replaced the seat and rebuilt the suspension mechanism .
Richie posted a picture of the old tattered seat and added a note to the description that said: HYDRALICS LEAKS.

That warning wasn't there when I bought it. And I had gotten an estimate for any work required to get it ready to dig.

I begged them to put new pictures on the listing and to add info. THEY DIDN'T.

I suggest you go to a market that doesn't give you a fast shuffle.

Load out was much easier in the past. They switched to a new policy of dont help customers it's not safe. I remember they used to actually try and load you out safely.

Horn and a few other experienced forklift drivers would actually try. It got in the yard with a forklift.

Everything was fine up until it was time to bid in the timed auction. Terrible concept. When time runs out the auction should end. Correct? Nope!!! The time extends and extends and extends and you will not be the winning bidder. It should end at the time it states. I will be looking elsewhere for products as this was a waste of time.

I get a lot of great deals here. Just remember to schedule your load up appointment prior to avoid the long lines.

Purchased a semi trailer from online, not in person. Big mistake. Whoever the moron is that took the pictures decided to not document important details such as rust holes in certain parts of the body and a literal obvious crack in the frame rail. They also claimed that the trailer didnt have a vin tag, and it had to be added before the trailer could leave the yard. When i went to finally view it at the repair facility, i found the original one within 2 minutes that proved it was the wrong size they had listed in their description. Again if the moron who set up the lot had bothered to bend over to look at the subframe on the passengers side then we wouldnt have had this problem…

Not only issues with the presentation of the item they listed, but they couldnt have made it harder dealing with the paperwork. Make sure if you use the app you list the name in which you want a title vehicle titled. I dont seem to recall a disclaimer saying that when i setup my account, but come to find out it literally cant be changed. Which is ignorant for something as specific as a TITLE which the RMV is extremely strict on. I understand Ritchie Bros need to control second hand purchases after the auction but perhaps providing proof its a simple name change would remedy the situation? You’d think they’d understand how business’s operate using different holding corps considering they themselves have multiple names… I couldnt even connect to the office the first week after the auction to get information. I had to call the main customer service line and even they couldnt get ahold of the office. Voicemails were never returned. After 2.5 months paperwork was finally figured out.

My first and LAST experience with Ritchie Bro’s. Deleted off my phone for good. Do yourselves a favor and use facebook marketplace instead. Or better yet a REPUTABLE dealership not these clowns.

I won a forklift at the Sacramento auction on June 7, 2023. I received an email from Ritchie Bros with a link to pay for my forklift. I did as instructed and paid $16,700 and the nightmare began. Until June 12 my payment disappeared in the system. I spent hours and hours on hold trying to talk to someone who could fix the issue and find my payment so I can pick up my item to no avail. When on the rare occasion that I was able to get someone on the phone they had no idea how to fix the issue. They would tell me that a supervisor would call me and of course this never happened. This has been a horrible experience and I would be very reluctant to ever participate at another Ritchie Bros auction. It is just not worth the waste of time and the aggravation.
