Absolutely love the team and lab at The Icon LA. I’ve been a customer for about 1.5 years. If you need a professional, reliable, and passionate lab, this is the go to place in LA. So far I’ve used both the film development, scans, and print services. I absolutely fell in love with the prints they made on my behalf. I don’t consider myself a professional photographer so I appreciate how the staff is always patient with my amateur level questions. Added bonus, my favorite LA-based photographers are always there. I’ve been coming back to The Icon for years not only because of the quality of the work. But because of the people in the space.

It’s great to be able to do high level work and still feel like everyone around you is having fun.

The Icon Lab is one of the last true quality photo labs in this part of the world. The archival prints that they have been generating for me from my catalogue of Bob Marley images are outstanding and of gallery quality. Highly recommend!

Do not get your film developed here. Every time I get slide film developed here it comes back muddy and with too much contrast. To make sure it’s an issue with development, I’ve sent the same film stock shot on the same day with the same camera, one roll to the Icon and another to a different lab up in Oakland for development, the Oakland roll comes back fine, beautiful, just as slide film should look. When I get the slides back from the Icon, it’s a complete mess. I have no idea what it is they’re doing or skipping in the development process, if they’re using expired chemicals, not using the right temperature, leaving the film in development for too long, whatever the case may be, don’t send your film here, you’ve been warned.
