This is a custom footwear shop. Hand crafted with each shoe a work of art. Sturdy and excellent material choices. They really are supporting made in America vision throughout the shoe manufacturing process. Met the team who runs the shop. Excellent, smart, engaging team that is working hard to create beautiful shoes from various materials. So happy to have stumbled upon them in the arts district. They are definitely worth stopping in and looking around. They have special collabs with designers and artists. They can make custom shoes to fit your feet!! Wonderful work. It was great to meet you and your team.

Me and my girlfriend happened to walk into the store on a whim during a one-off trip to the Arts District. We both really dug the design of their shoes and got to chat a bit with Sean and his wife and learn their story. They come from a younger Asics and Nike brand so they know shoes.

I don’t often indulge myself but I ordered a pair of slick off-white leather sneakers that I can both dress up and down for work and weekends. The craftsmanship, the thought put into the design and materials, and the mellow-cool personality of the owners won me over. We even got a tour of their workstation. Really cool! Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. Look forward to receiving my order. Thanks Sean.

Excellent customer experience. I don't think I have ever been to a place similar to this. They take care of every customer demand and make any custom shoes you can imagine. The atmosphere is novelty and modern. I would recommend to visit the place even for the sake of aesthetic pleasure

Love the company's mission and the fact that their shoes are made in America by local hardworking members of the community. However, I found the durability of the shoes questionable. I had them repaired once with great customer service. Now, I have another hole in my shoe, and one of my heel straps ripped while putting on my shoes only after a short time of wearing them. The 100+ price tag for these shoes might be spent better elsewhere. I
won't be buying again from them, but I wish them well in their endeavors.

I’m now wearing my sixth pair these shoes!! They are incredibly stylish - unique - and I get compliments on them every day!

I love that I don’t need to wear socks and yet my feet are fresh all day long !! and I now have almost every color imaginable.

Dressy enough for a hot date & comfortable enough for the Hollywood bowl... I encourage you to support this downtown LA business that makes their shoes in downtown LA

I was looking for handmade shoes that didn’t look and feel like all the cheaply made big brand name stuff. I stumbled upon ComunityMade online and decide to check out their store in downtown LA. Wow! It’s a cool space and right next to a Blue Bottle Coffee shop! Met the super nice owners who are excited to tell their story. Learned that a portion of my shoe purchase goes towards a charity of my choice. I don’t follow many charities so I opted to use one of the 3 local charities they support. Love my new kicks!

I bought a pair of Mateo shoes from Sean and Shannon in July 2018. I wore them every day pretty much for a year. They are easily the most versatile and comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They work in any situation and the are so light, flexible, and durable. It's not even funny. But after I put about a million miles on them I happened to wander by the Comunity shop and Sean waved me in (once you've done business with Sean and Shannon they are friends). He looked at the shoes and said, "Looks like it's time for new soles". So now my old Mateo shoes are in the shop, and I bought a new pair as well, different color.

Comunity is quality and Comunity has soul (get it?). I am a fan for life. The best shoes I've ever worn.
