I was referred to General Brite Plating by our amazing interior designer after my wife and I decided to upgrade all of our kitchen, bath, and plumbing hardware to a polished nickel finish from Snyder Diamond. We encountered a challenge with the existing bathtub filler and handle, which were custom-made in black. Unfortunately, they couldn’t be swapped for the Brizo polished nickel finish we wanted—or any other brand—without tearing out the entire primary bathroom. This was not an option, as it took two years to build our home and an additional five months of modifications.

I contacted General Brite Plating a few days before the holidays, and their team kindly asked me to bring the piece in for evaluation. When I visited their facility on 12/21/24, Alan, the owner, gave me a tour and explained the process. I was blown away by the craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail evident in their work. Their history of over 79 years of excellence was apparent, and after seeing the finish on our piece, it was clear we were in the best hands. Both our developer and designer were equally impressed with the final result.

Alan and his team were exceptional. Alan personally took the time to walk me through their operations and treated me like a long-time client. The team worked seamlessly, like a family, and their pride in their work was evident in every detail.

I’m thrilled with the outcome, and more importantly, so is my wife. I highly recommend General Brite Plating for any custom plating or refinishing needs. Related a hard-to-replace mail slot in oil rubbed bronze. Came out like new. I got a quote by email based on pix and they stuck to it. The people are great, the work is great, the place is epic.

It took me quite a while to find a place that would even accept this. Relatively small job 100 pieces after placing the order and shipping to the facility. They did the job and shipped back. Unfortunately, an error occurred instead of getting brushed nickel. I received satin brass I contacted Alan and sent them back. They did a very fast turnaround, and sent back the brushed nickel With no additional charge. I would like to praise General Bright and Alan for their integrity will definitely be doing business with them again.

I had a wonderful experience with General Brite, who plated a large metal sculpture for me, with hand finishing / burnishing, as well as helping to create a rainbow patina effect through paints and dyes on stainless steel (Hector is the guy for spray painting!). They really have the expertise in how to create different aesthetics, and I saw many amazing projects around the workshop - furniture, art, and interior design objects. The owners are passionate about what they do and I recommend consulting with one of them to determine what you need for the project, before they hand you over to their team who can make it all happen. I liaised directly with owner Alan Olick, who has a passion for art and sculpture, a very keen eye for detail and colour, and can give you ideas for how to do things. I always recommend asking advice on the best way to achieve what you want - often there is more than one route to the finish you require so these guys should be able to recommend the most effective for your needs. I also found that if anything was not quite right, the team were happy to adjust or re-do it as I am a perfectionist in my work. I really appreciated the help of Trino who gave me permission to film some of the making-process on site, and was very accommodating even with my strange requests to bring a couple of film crew members behind the scenes! This really was going over and above. The company is busy, with a lot of hard-working team members and much going on in the space - I found that the best way to work together was to meet face to face, to go in and get to know the team rather than do everything by email. Personal touch is best! When I was nearing the end of my project I was introduced to David who was good at managing the process - giving feedback on when things will be finished and chasing up on pending items. I believe that David coming in as production supervisor / first contact point for customers, is going to help the process at General Brite run very smoothly. Thanks again for your awesome help!

Wow!!! Perfect plating!
I had them re-plate a set of headlight rings from my 1986 Alfa Spider. They came back better than new. A deep, shiny chrome coat without any imperfections. Also the back side is extremely neat. Price was very reasonable. Alan and the crew are great.

I sent some motorcycle parts to be show-quality bronze plated. Alan & crew did an outstanding job, even in areas needing to be protected from plating. The baked-on epoxy clear coat is also flawless!
