We are so grateful that weather and nature permitted for our wedding to be held at The Outpost on 9/21. It was the perfect venue and we so appreciated the fact that a part of their package includes staying on site. Waking up with our wedding party and setting up our tent and decor together made it feel like a family affair. Alyssa, Billy & Jolene were accommodating, kind and supportive through it all, even when a rain and hail storm came through the day before our wedding. They helped with clean up and drying things out so that all could be ready for our special day. The location is cozy, beautiful and perfect for groups. We hope to be back to visit and would highly recommend it as either a great place to spend a few days or celebrating a social day.

Our first visit to the Outpost was amazing. Came for a wedding and stayed in cabin 5. Great space for a family of 4. Cabins are clean and well maintained. The views on the property are stunning. It was a beautiful place for a wedding. The owners are awesome! Friendly and accommodating. When the opportunity presents itself for us to visit again, we will definitely stay here again!!

My husband’s family has owned property in Fawnskin since 1957, and we built our cabin in 1980. We think The Outpost is one of the greatest places on the mountain for family/ friends get togethers.
Quite a few cabins on North Shore close to the lake.
So cool to see large groups enjoying our small town. The contractor, probably the owner, has done a magnificent job remodeling the cabins!
We have not stayed they as we have our places, but, every time I drive around the lake, I slow down to admire The Outpost. The Fawnskin Market and the store next door is walking distance away. Hopefully, someone will buy the North Shore Cafe nearby!
I think the Grizzly needs to interview the owners, if they have not already done so!
The focus is always on The Village, The drive across the dam, driving east through Fawnskin alongside the lake, is one of the most beautiful, scenic drives in California from my perspective!
Maybe this town does not want to draw attention nor bring the traffic, The Outpost has been one of the greatest improvements to our town. Wish someone would do something about the Fawn Lodge. Former Supervisor, James Ramos, held a couple of meetings, but nothing substantial really happened.

AMAZING EVERYTHING! The location, the cabins/rooms, the staff! All of it was amazing!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this awesome little lodge! Right on the lake, and walking distance to the fawnskin village.

Great people! We went for a wedding and loved the scenery! The owners are friendly and accommodating. Stay here if you're looking to spend some time near Big Bear Lake. The cabins are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. My kids loved the games and activities on site 🙂

Eleven of us (6 adults, 5 young children) absolutely loved our stay at the Outpost and plan to recruit some additional friends to make it an annual vacation. The cabins were lovely, clean, comfortable, and furnished with everything we could need or want. The cabin patios were perfect for morning coffee. The Adirondack chairs at the fire pit were heavenly for wine, beer, and S’mores. The picnic tables and grill were perfect for dinner and entertainment….lots of outdoor games suitable for all ages. Our two dogs were also very happy.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Lovely setting. The owners are the nicest people and very helpful and accommodating! They have created a wonderful place, their attention to detail in the cabins and property is amazing! We had an absolutely wonderful stay!

I recently stayed at this cabin and it was a truly breathtaking and unforgettable experience. The cabin itself is a work of art, both inside and out. The silence and natural beauty surrounding the cabin were absolutely mesmerizing. The cabins are situated on the far side of the lake, which meant that we were spared the massive amount of traffic passing though the main road of big bear, making for very quiet nights. The cabin came with a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen that was an awesome money saver, it made for an easy romantic dinner by the fireplace. The only downsides were the refrigerator would intermittently buzz loudly during the night, which made it difficult to sleep and the driveway was a bit icy, making it difficult to safely navigate and exit the property. I recommend adding spot mirrors at the end of the driveway to help guests see the road while at the bottom of the hill. Despite these small issues, I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and secluded getaway. Thank you for providing such an exceptional cabin for my stay.
