Kayaked out to this location from Boulder Bay Park and what a wonderful day we had. The history around this now, privately owned island, is quite interesting and worth the time to research. There are several beach landing sites, one to the west and a much larger one to the east, where you can land a kayak on and enjoy the view. We were able to kayak right off the island, without landing since it is all private property. Just west of the island, is another outcrop of boulders, which you can swim out to and climb if your heart desires a little adventure. Again, what a view to see and it was all worth the effort.

Great day on the lake! These rocks are great for all levels. There are bigger rocks for the grown folks and smaller rocks for the young visitors.
The lake is smaller in comparison to some other lakes in California. This one is exactly two hours for me. Water feels great and brisk but you can definitely stay in the water for longer periods of time. Hopefully we can squeeze one more weekend into the books before summer ends! Fingers crossed.

Had a great time fishing with the family here. Didn't catch much but you can't beat the scenery! I would recommend this place to visit while up at Big Bear Lake for sure! Nightcrawlers gave us the best luck by the way.

BIG BEAR Lake has receded due to drought. Thus, it is no longer an privately owned island but land connected by a new fields with numerous honey bees on wild flowers.

Great place to jump of of rocks in big bear lake. It's free to be on big bear lake when you rent a boat otherwise you must license your watercraft to be on the lake, happy boating everyone!
