Two years ago ended up in the emergency room after an e-bike accident. Shattered my wrist and foot so badly I had to go to surgery after. The hospital sent me home with ace bandage wrap. I ended up going to San Diego UCSD who handled everything. The surgeon was livid and couldn’t believe they sent me home like this, didn’t call in surgeons or do anything for me but X-rays and throwing ace bandage wrap on broken limbs. I was in excruciating pain for days until I could get in to see a specialist. The best part? They didn’t even make sure I had resources to get anywhere with not being able to use my whole right side of my body. They gave me crutches, when my wrist was broken!!! Totally neglect!! So glad UCSD was on top of everything and I healed well. I caution anyone using this hospital, worst experience ever.

My mom brought my sister to this hospital last week while she was in the middle of a seizure. She was violently throwing up, disoriented, and suffering from a blinding migraine... yet instead of receiving care, she was treated like a criminal. The staff were beyond rude and vile while treating her with blatant disrespect and disregard, as if her medical emergency was an inconvenience. And while she was in the midst of having another seizure right there in the hospital, they forced her out. Yes, you read that right... a seizing patient was thrown out like she didn’t matter.

She has Medi-Cal, which seems to be the only thing this place needed to see to decide she wasn’t worth helping. Her neurologist later confirmed that this isn’t an isolated incident... multiple of his patients have experienced the exact same discrimination and neglect at this very hospital during seizure episodes.

This isn’t just medical negligence, it’s systemic abuse of the most vulnerable patients. And it needs to be exposed.

Went to the ER at Providence Mission Hospital Laguna Beach walk-in late last night for a concussion. I’ve not been to an ER where everything ran so smoothly. I was in and out within 2 -2 1/2 hours. I was attended to right away by the ER staff, nurses, technicians who did their part from check-in to release getting me checked and tested. Thank you to Dr. Andrew Adams for attending to me right away and the staff for your great demeanor and caring.

I had hip replacement surgery over a year ago but never got around to writing a review. Everything about my 2024 surgery and hospital stay in Laguna went really well. A very positive experience!
The hospital pre-surgery online class was so worthwhile; very informative and they answered a lot of questions which helped me feel prepared.
The check-in process the morning of surgery went smoothly and quickly. There was plenty of convenient parking. The staff and doctors were efficient and clearly explained what to expect. (Dr. Chen, Dr. Bronson, Evelyn, Holly?)
After surgery/recovery I was moved to a 4th floor? room in time for lunch and later that afternoon walked around the hall with the PT. Everyone who helped me the next 24 hours was respectful, kind, attentive. I wish I had jotted down all the names. (Nicole, Pedro, Chaplain Christine, Minnie, Emmanuelle, Guillermo, were a few) The only negative feedback is my bathroom was too tiny but... it was a small price to pay in exchange for the beautiful ocean view, very peaceful setting, and excellent care I received.
It's been over a year since my surgery. I recovered quickly and attribute that to Dr. Chen, an excellent surgeon; the positive in-patient hospital experience in Laguna; as well as good post-op PT.

Came here for abdominal pain. Was quickly given tests and a CT scan even before a room was open. Doctor Abdi was very knowledgeable and gave me thorough instructions before sending me home. The entire process took about 5 hours. During my duration in the ER, I couldn't help but notice how kind and compassionate the staff was towards "rude" patients. We are lucky to have this hospital in our community.

I was here with my sister. I have been coming to this ER for over 40 years. Easy to check in. Front end very kind. Nursing Staff not listening very well. I told them she has had episodes like this. She does not respond well to a certain medication. They responded we are going to give her that medication and another. No adjustment to the information provided. Not impressed. Then the nurse in charge responded with attitude after being challenged on that fact. I simply said "someone should start listening"

I brought a friend to the ER, we were the only two people in there at 8am, they said that they needed to wait for a bed to open before they could admit my friend. We saw countless people come into the ER and were seen before my friend was finally admitted two hours later. By the way, they have a staff person come into the ER waiting room and ask very personal and probing questions of each patient. And while the questions and answers are done in a hushed tone, I was able to hear all conversations with all patients, so I assume others were able to hear as well. How about taking these patients into a room on the other side of the ER door to complete and ask your intake questions. Also, why do you have patients complete questions online only to ask the same questions again by intake staff. So inefficient and frustrating.
