This is a very strange website. I mistakenly used their toll road, so visited the website to pay within 4 days. It shows that I have to pay $9. okay. but the website is total fraud. I entered my credit card information 7 times, and it doesn't get processed. I never had issue with this credit card, the payment system simply does not accept the payment. and I know they will send me the bill with penalty.
---

Added: It was not scam. I typed your website correctly and tried to pay there. It was such a pain. The next day, I called the customer service and I was never served. the waiting was so long. After several trials on the website, I was able to pay my $9. I could not believe how much time I wasted in order to pay that money. I will just not use the Toll again

Extremely frustrating and disorganized system.

I paid my toll violation over a month and a half ago — in full. I have proof of payment from my bank, a confirmation number, and an active FastTrak transponder that was properly linked to my vehicle, including the temporary plates at the time of the violation.

Despite doing everything right, I just received a DMV registration hold notice claiming I haven’t paid.

This is unacceptable.

I have every piece of documentation to prove that this balance was resolved, and yet I’m still being penalized due to your internal disorganization and lack of communication between systems.

To make matters worse, there’s no proper online dispute option — only a phone line with limited hours. That’s not customer service, that’s obstruction.

Fix your system. Customers who play by the rules shouldn’t be punished for your mistakes.

Used the toll roads over the last three weeks—two round trips total. After the first trip, I got a notice in the mail and paid the toll. No problem. For the second trip, I literally checked the site daily (within their 24-hour free viewing window) waiting for the toll to show up. Next thing I know, I get hit with a notice in the mail saying I owe $115
for a $7 toll. Penalty added with no warning.

From my research tolls are developed by a government -private company partnership. Make sense with all the fees accumulated but either way—it feels shady. Definitely not built for the working class. That’ll be the last time I use the tolls.

I was in Orange County in late March 2025 and drove on 1 toll road twice. I received the invoice to pay my charges by May 6th, 2025. I entered my bank account info on 5/2/25 and was sent a receipt that it was processed. Thought all was good. On May 17th I receive a notice dated 5/8/25 that the fee was return for NSF (no way possible, ended that day with $23K in the account) and I'm now to pay $27.56 within 10 days of the notice....that I received 5/17 and it was due 5/18 so I mailed it the 19th. Prior to that I also filed a grievance about the extra fees (online they wanted to charge me over $200 in fees for the ACH they "couldn't" process). Today 5/20, i receive a letter that after the account was reviewed they would accept $47.56. I called in to dispute the extra $20 within 20 min of receiving the letter and was told the total is now $67.56. Not sure where the extra $20 came from in 20 minutes. I was on the phone with them for over 30 min as a customer service rep went back and forth with a supervisor giving them half the story. Once a supervisor gets on the phone, my charges are now up over $100 for "penalties" that were not included in the original letter dated 5/8/25. After 55 minutes on the phone, I'm now being forced to pay another $20 on top of the $27.56 for the lowest they can go with the penalties. It should be no surprise they have so many issues when on their site they have a section about resolving a delinquent toll with proof of payment. This company should be investigated for fraud and shut down.

You need to fix your website badly. Said I never had any tolls outstanding and got a Violation Fine in the mail for $57 from a $2.20 toll I took 6 days ago. Website will not work now I have to come in and handle this and waste my time.

Added: I can now no longer log into the Violation Claim and Passcode they gave me through the mail to pay the violations, After starting a dispute over the claim. Now nobody will get back to my emails after a 9 days.

Driving to Orange county I end up in toll road. So I called that day and every other day for 2 weeks to pay and I was tolled they don’t have any records of me or the car and I should call back in two days. In meanwhile I was getting text twice a day saying that I’m late on my toll payment
if don’t pay we do this and that. toll road co. Told me that not to respond to those text because they are scam. So make story short I got mail in 3rd week saying that I have to pay penalty $64.67 penalties for late payment of $7.17. I called them agin, this time they had records of me and my car alright and was asking me to pay $64.57 for $7.17 and open an account with them. I told them I thought I had an account, I even have their sticker to prove it. So after 45 minutes of arguing and telling them I did my job by calling them multiple times to pay, but they couldn’t find any records on me or the car. I got transferred to the supervisor. After long explanation I paid $12. In reality I think they do this so you can end up paying more, 100x more than what you owe. There is possibility that scams is coming from inside also because as soon as I went to toll road, I got bombarded with texts that I’m late on my payment. I hope I’m wrong, but point is try to avoid toll roads as much as possible.$ it is not worth it for $7.17 a person to go through all that stress.

No matter what anyone says, this organization is a scam. They billed me erroneously for $250 and when the first rep I spoke to said I would get it refunded they said it would take ten days. The next person I called two weeks later said it would take 30 days from the time of that particular phone call. Now I just had a phone conversation from a third rep saying it will take 90 days. By that time I can’t report it as fraud with my bank, so I’ll be reporting it as fraud with my bank now. Banks and processing centers that say it takes more than 90 days to process a refund are a scam 100%. Don’t trust them. Don’t do business with these people. They are crooks 100%.

Update: they sent me a check for $30 not $250 as promised. There were separate transactions. This is absolutely insane; they told me it’ll take 90 days to refund and yet it took 60 days to get a partial refund check. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. And I saw your reply ‘owner’. I already spoke with your reps on three separate occasions and they lied to me each time. Emailing you will be different? That’s funny.

Picked up my parents from John Wayne Airport; my mom advises me to use the Toll Road to get home - it's late at night, dark, and it's been raining for a few hours so we best not chance it on the main highway.

Alright, so I plug that into GPS and we're off. We get onto the Toll Road and just pass the cameras *flash* - about a mile after that - orange cones. No warning; no signs yet.

Then we see it: road construction. Signs; the works - appearing out of the dark. The entire freeway is closed and cones are pushing traffic off the Toll Road and out onto the dark, unlit, slick canyon road.

End up having to weave our way down the canyon road and downtown to finally make it to PCH to complete our journey. Added over 30 minutes on top of our 25 minute trip, thanks to stoplights.

Charged for the privilege; submitted a dispute - I wouldn't have taken the Toll Road in the first place if I had known that it was effectively closed between the airport and our destination.

Some poor mook working in the bowels of their building responds with some form letter "Toll reversals are not issued for drivers who inadvertently travel on The Toll Roads or exit prematurely. This includes and is not limited to detours or delays."

I didn't get on accidentally nor did I get off prematurely! YOU had road construction that wasn't posted in advance; YOU made me get off the freeway.

So, I guess the Tools at the Tolls official position is that I should've run over the cones, risked the road crews' lives, and carried on our merry way.

Noted; will remember this official advice in the future. Thanks, Tools!
