A solid 5 stars for Adams Street Shipping! This business is under new ownership and we are so glad to have them here in St. Helena. They are friendly and very helpful. Keep in mind that this is a small LOCAL business and it is NOT UPS or Fed Ex... so they do not get paid when you bring your returns to them. Their small handling fee is definitely worth having them take and track your packages for you. I certainly don't want to drive to Napa for my business and very happy to keep it local with a great team and owners! Thanks for always being so wonderful when I come into your store.

THINK TWICE! Chose Adams based on reviews as we were leaving Napa, but regretting it. Gave 1 star for the customer-friendly rep who took our shipping order, but this company poorly mismanaged expectations & shipping was slow. It’s taking 10+ days to get our wine - don’t have it yet so not sure of the condition. We were told no more than 5 days & friends who used another company already got theirs. I even received a custom-made wine rack shipped USPS in 4 days.

Left messages that were never returned & finally connected with the manager. When asked about hold up, was told they’ve been “that busy”. Even tried to use Hurricane Ian as excuse - that storm was over a week ago & we live in Texas, so not sure how that comes into play. Like I said, Texas friends on same wine tour didn’t seem to have the delay with their shipping company. Since it’s wine, naturally, we’re concerned how it’s been stored the past week. We know things happen, just communicate, return calls, provide an update. Such wine & shipping costs are too expensive for this kind of thing. Won’t use again.

I don't like trashing a small, local business but my experience with Adams Street Shipping has been beyond awful.

I went in to mail a pair of shoes that needed to be returned to the UK--typically I do this myself but figured I would try their service out. When I went in I explained to the employee that it was an international return. The employee said not a problem he would fill out all necessary customs paperwork; all I needed to do was state the value of the shoes, where they were being mailed to and my personal details. I thought, great, I never like filling out those tedious customs forms. Employee told me not to worry, everything would be taken care of. I re-itterated that the shoes were returned goods.

I have done business with the company where the shoes were being returned several dozen times and returned many pairs of shoes in the past without issue. The big difference, I did all past returns myself, filling out the necessary paperwork.

When the shoes arrived at the return business in the UK they had incurred $80 in customs fee's. Something that should have never happened had the paperwork been filled out properly. I contacted Adams Street Shipping telling them about this--despite the fact that I was told when mailing that if any issues arose they would contact me. They told me it was my fault that this happened and refused to take responsibility despite the fact that they obviously filled out the customs forms incorrect and failed to state that it was returned goods. I told them to just get the shoes back but they refused to pay the cost of return shipping. They continually blamed UPS, myself & the business where the shoes were being returned to rather than admit any fault. I told them that this was unacceptable as they had created the entire fiasco. The man I spoke to on the phone was combative and condescending not demonstrating any concern for the customer.

They told me they would look into it and get back to me in 2 days. Over one week later and still have yet to get back to me.

My advice would be to never do business with this company, or if so, at YOUR OWN RISK. They will not take responsibility for their errors. This is a company that claims to specialize in shipping wine--just remember, with customer service like theirs I would think twice about letting them handle anything you hold of value.

I've used Adams Street Shipping to ship dozens of cases of wines over the years. Always reliable, always reasonably priced, and never had any issues at either end. When shipping wine from Napa, I wouldn't use anyone else!
