The ikebana container is a good size for the beginner and it is made with good quality! I like the color tone which is easy to match with all different flower materials and colors for the practices. The item was well packaged and shipping is fast. I am purchasing more different style containers and hope they can have more new ones.

This place is a hidden gem, but if you’re willing to drive up hills and windy roads, you’re bound to find something that fits your taste. Arakawa Pottery makes some of the best handcrafted ramen bowls, utensil coasters, and more — and yes, even some of these our local businesses buy from this pottery (which I did NOT know until Thomas mentioned it to us)!
Both of them make such interesting creations and honestly it makes me amazed at how much time it takes for them to fulfill restaurants’ orders — even personal ones from customers and friends and people like us too. Kudos to them.

I am very thankful to have gotten a tour around not just the pottery, but also since this business is right next to a farm of chickens, goats, and peacocks, we also happened to get a tour of all the animals as well.

I’m definitely coming back soon to visit again! Because why would you say no to this place? The hospitality is awesome, and so is the vibe. You won’t be disappointed.

Arakawa Pottery is a stunning example of the beautiful and intricate art of Japanese pottery. Today, i had the opportunity to experience an Arakawa pottery and had purchased a serving plate & a Vase, and was struck by its beauty and elegance.
The glaze on each piece was unique, with subtle variations in color and texture that added depth and complexity to the overall aesthetic. The glaze also had a distinct sheen to it, giving each piece a luminous quality that was truly breathtaking.
the attention to detail and the level of craftsmanship that had gone into its creation.
I truly admire the craftsmanship of Thomas & Cathy, who are truly the amazing people behind this art.

Rare found in the mountain area just outside San Jose! Arakawa Pottery hand-crafts unique and quality pottery inside this quiet wilderness with a sense of passion and focus. Thomas and Kathy are so friendly that they show us the back of their workshop, explaining to us the process and materials. We are amazed with the huge oven operated by gas that burns pottery up to above 2000F. This is a kind of life that required endurance and persistence, just like what they are creating everyday.

Thomas and Kathy are very friendly kind people who are amazing at their craft. Their showroom doubles as their workshop and is a very cozy quaint place that I visited multiple times during my short stay in San Jose. The quality, care, and thoughtfulness put into each of their products is very apparent, and I cannot wait to purchase more amazing pieces.
