I went there 2 nights ago when Lindsay and Angela were "manning" the bar. Absolutely gem of a find. Cozy, warm, and welcoming interiors. Great wine selection. I believe there are chocolates and charcuterie boards available, but it's a wine bar, not a full fledged restaurant.

Lindsay and Angela are wonderful hostesses, and I am planning on returning back with more friends.

I always have an incredible experience at Commanche Cellars in Monterey! The wine selection is absolutely fantastic, with a range of wines that suit every palate, from rich reds to crisp whites. Lindsay and Maddie, who are often behind the bar, are amazing – not only are they incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, but also super friendly and always make our visit so enjoyable. The winery also hosts some really fun events throughout the year, like a chocolate pairing evening and a paint your pet night, which add a great sense of community to the experience. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a great place to relax, Commanche Cellars is a must-visit spot in Monterey. Highly recommend!

This is the perfect spot to stop by and do an indoor wine tasting. The whole staff is very welcoming and friendly.
I got today's flight and a charcuterie board and had one of the best wine experiences. They are pet friendly! The prices are great! I recommend stopping by if you're in the area; they also accept walk-ins!
I'll definitely be coming back!

Really hesitated leaving this review because this place seems mostly great, but we had a strange experience with the service here last week. We walked in and sat at the bar, and maybe we should have made a reservation but it was hours before closing and they had lots of open seating so we figured it was okay. The server assigned to us took a long time to acknowledge us and then kept forgetting about us (or ignoring us?) and the other staff person would have to check on us or remind her to do so throughout the night which made the tasting go very slowly. That wasn't the worst as we weren't in a hurry, but unfortunately our server seemed to know nothing at all about the wine, when she tried to describe each wine in the tasting flight she was clearly just struggling to read upside-down from the menu in front of us. When the other server, Sarah, would take over and pour our next glass (which happened 2/5 times) she was so much more knowledgeable about what she was pouring and just way better customer service all around. There was also a weird moment with our assigned server where she asked if my partner and I were related, and then when we explained that we are not, she doubled down and said that we looked related and we probably get that a lot which was just not the best thing to say. Everyone puts their foot in their mouth sometimes, but combined with the fact that we were being ignored so much that the other server kept having to step in, it made for a poor experience. Overall the wines were very good (we did the Festive Flight), the ambiance was nice, and the other server seemed to be providing great service so maybe this is just a case of a new employee needing more training and self-awareness, but we left feeling a bit weird about the whole thing.

I had such a special experience at Comanche. As a solo traveller I sat at the counter with both Jeff and Lindsay and learnt so much more about wine. They are extremely knowledgable and friendly, and really made my evening in Monterey. You must visit if you are in the area. Thank you guys, really special experience.

Loved the wines! Thank you to Angela & the guy that came in at 2pm (sorry, forgot your name!) for dealing with an extremely difficult customer. Service was fantastic, wines were delicious, really great people working here.
