This courthouse is terrible. I received a letter stating that I failed to appear yet I never had the chance to set up a court appearance for the no license plate (due to a brand new vehicle and not receiving them) and now DMV is involved and I have to pay thousands of dollar just to get my driving privileges restored. The point of the story is, I was screwed because this backwater redneck county found an easy score to grab money from a person who lives 6 hours north in San Fran. You would think a government would be more professionally driven. This is why so many folks hate government or the lack thereof.

My experience here as a juror was excellent. It was definitely a drive from Bakersfield but that was a minor inconvenience. The judge and bailiffs were very professional. The staff at the window could be better, but you can't expect too much.

This court is so messed up. Charges you the extra fee without letting you know, doesn’t give you traffic school, restricted to do the installments and can’t make the payment online.
