10 out of 10 recommend this place always like trying to find cool butcher shops in new areas and this has become my favorite. Don’t see too many butcher shops at this level in California. Don’t miss out on this place has some relly nice cuts of meat. And they make their own sausage in house. The owner Tim was working when I walked in and stopped what he was doing to tell me about the origin of the beef he carries. Has options for any one also they care fresh seafood.

I am comparing Point Butcher Shop (PBS) directly against Pointside Butcher Shop (PSBS)... which is down the road about 8 minutes walk away or a 3 minute drive around the block.

PBS better than PSBS. Be very careful. Read this in plain english...

Point Butcher Shop ("PBS") is a guaranteed 10/10 experience. High quality deep red meat, certified humane, and quick friendly customer service. PSBS meat is old, overpriced and store is basically an empty thrift shop compared to PBS, friendly staff though... but I got two cuts from each shop. The NY Strip from PBS compared to PSBS is literally night and day. As a seasoned chef with friends who are steak novices, everyone could TASTE and SEE the difference between the cuts. The PBS meat is a beautiful deep red with a great fat to meat ratio in marbling. PSBS was trash compared to PBS.

Please visit PBS (this store that I am reviewing) and DO NOT visit PSBS (the store down the road, not this review)

My first visit resulted in an amazing experience. I got some very nice spare ribs which I smoked. I also got skirt steak and a single beef short rib for testing. Everything came out juicy and tender. And they do an excellent Mexican chorizo.

It is great having a butcher shop with walking distance on the east side. The selection is great, high quality cuts at reasonable prices. They have delicious marinated skewers ready to cook (took home all the flavors). They also have whole roasted rotisserie chickens in the store.

The Niman Ranch Dry aged Rib-Eye is the best steak I have ever had by a lot! I did mine sous vide with salt, pepper and garlic powder at 129 for 2 hrs, then seared it off on a charcoal bbq hotter than the surface of the sun for about 1 min per side. It’s an experience!

Tim and his team are awesome. Tim is all about providing 1st class quality meat and service. He takes the time to build relationships with his customers to ensure an outstanding experience. We ordered a 4 rib prime rib for our Christmas family dinner. It was the best prim rib we have ever had. Our community is very fortunate to have Tim and his butcher shop local. Cheers!!
