Ah, Stratford Court Cafe. A curious little establishment nestled in the heart of Del Mar Beach. One might say it's akin to a mid-level operative - shows promise, but ultimately fails to deliver on its full potential.

The burrito, I must admit, was a pleasant surprise. It stood out like a well-crafted dossier amidst a sea of redacted documents. The smoothie, however, left much to be desired - reminiscent of a poorly executed counter-intelligence operation.

The atmosphere benefits greatly from its proximity to the beach, much like how a mediocre safehouse can be elevated by a strategic location. But make no mistake, if you're seeking that picture-perfect ocean view, you'd be better off chartering a yacht.

In the grand tapestry of culinary experiences, Stratford Court Cafe is a single, unremarkable thread. It's the sort of place one visits once, commits to memory, and files away - never to be revisited unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

Had high hopes for this cafe as the reviews were great.

The cafe is located in a cottage and the location is walkable distance to the beach.

Visited around 10am on a weekday, and the cafe was busy. It is mostly self service, where you grab your own table and have a number once you place your order for food. We ordered the waffle, which was alright and the cream was melted by the time we got it at our table. Scrambled eggs were underseasoned, veggie omelet wasn’t great, and lox Benedict was average. The only items we finished were the donuts.

The food was average at best.

Food quality is no question good, can taste the freshness out off each bite. The vibe is welcoming with patio seating area. Very enjoyable. The only thing I would hope to have would be adding more good coffee selections.

Beautiful place to have breakfast and breathe fresh air. Wonderful and charming place. Parking is not great nor bad. But expect long line during holidays and weekends. Breakfast burritos are great!!

Delicious & beautiful spot in Del Mar! Ordered the Perfect Breakfast Sandwich, the Household Benedict and Edamame Avocado Toast on sourdough with a fried egg (although we couldn’t find/taste the edamame…). Everything was so fresh, especially the fruit. Would definitely recommend the Perfect Breakfast Sandwich.
